Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
We are playing like crap. The Cats need to throw a new wrinkle into their offense. The flow in the offense is terrible and out of sync. USC has figured out our offense.

Get a fucking rebound
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Boz and Abercrombie playing timidly
I will see you there, or I will see you on another time
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
IF Abercrombie takes it to the hoop with two hands, he most likely draws the foul

Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
USC came to play and their defense is stifling right now. They know how to clog up the lane. If the Cats can't shoot from mid-range or long range to open up the floor, they will lose this game.
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Low scoring grind it out game. Who is tougher. Boogie could be a big problem with a score this low. Two 3's and that is huge in a game like this.

Gotta make FTs… Boz is mia again so far
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Boswell playing good D so far

This game is a brawl. It helps prepare UA for the tourney.
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
This is a tough match up for Bozwell. USC has 2 nba level physical guards. He needs to focus on all the other aspects of the game
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Most D1 players aren’t comfortable shooting 10 - 12 footers. They practice over dribbling and 3 pointers and step backs, but they don’t see the mid range shots as being integral to winningpc in NM wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 12:39 pmSame as SaturdayCatintheheat wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 12:34 pm We are playing like crap. We are playing very good D
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Ballo has got to get a couple of those freebies. Kylan paying good defense.
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Miller would be proud of this D. Need to keep it up all game to get the win.

Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Maybe, but USC has gotten it worse than us. (We've had 11 FT's, USC 1)
And, only losers complain about refs...

Up 28-16 at half... We are the Virginia of theWest!!!!
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
IMNSHO, that might be the best 28-point half that I've seen from an Arizona team!

Play some killer D and you don't have to worry about your shots falling.

We are not playing badly IMO
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Takes a lot of energy to play that defense. Got to make some of those underneath shots. Refs will even it out this half so play without fouling is key. This is a defensive game and it will take focus and strength to finish.

Not saying we're playing poorly, just that this is just gross basketball being played

9 TOs, 4 assists, 38.5% FGs, 45.5% FTs, and up 12. I'll take it

Was concerned about the offense, but the defense is what we need. This team isn't going to score 90 points a game in the tournament. Like seeing the ability to get it done in different ways.

First one to 40 wins.

USC will fit right in with the Big 10 with this kind of ugly ball.Fishclamps wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 1:03 pm Not saying we're playing poorly, just that this is just gross basketball being played

Pretty crowded inside for a Thursday noon game. And very loud in McKale North

Sweat Boy would have had Ballo hedging 10 feet outside of the 3 line, negating any chance of those beautiful blocks that he had

Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Great defensive half - still need to clean up the TOs and get some more FT made!
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
USC can score in a hurry so I'm nervous. Pelle only having 1 foul will keep johnson in check.
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
Need to come out strong. Keep playing D and hopefully a few bunnies will drop this half.
Re: (M) Game #32 USC vs. Arizona (Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinal) (2023-2024)
To be honest, BOTH teams played "Ugly ball" that half, and the pace was determined by USC...AZCatGirl wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 1:06 pmUSC will fit right in with the Big 10 with this kind of ugly ball.Fishclamps wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 1:03 pm Not saying we're playing poorly, just that this is just gross basketball being played
... that was CSM's game, and that's also one of the main reasons I prefer CTL's offensive style.
While I think we didn't handle USC well at all last week, I do recognize that so far, this has been a good performance against one of the most difficult styles we are likely to face (before Houston or UConn, anyway)

USC has missed some bunnies too. Momentum will be huge this half and I'm glad our crowd is there.
