Re: Oumar Ballo
Why is ballo leaving again?
Re: Oumar Ballo
I think you hit the nail on the head...........its "Show me the Money" time for Mr. Ballo. Certainly cannot blame him given his physical limitations which will ensure he never plays in the NBA. I hope he gets a big bag o'bucks.
Re: Oumar Ballo
We really don't know, yet. Maybe we never will get the real story. But, until then, poster speculation will add nothing to ANYONE'S knowledge.
Me, I hope it's because CTL has Maxime Raynaud on auto-dial.
But really, I will enjoy watching Krivas bloom as a starter.

Veesaar can. And until the Cats replace Keshad, we may see him a lot out there. Henri was 5-10 3PT his last FIBA season.VegasCatFan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 2:15 pm I wonder if he can stretch his shot out to the 3-point line every once in awhile.

Re: Oumar Ballo
If Veesaar stays, I wouldn't mind seeing a lineup with those two, if they can play defense well enough. I still hope we get a physical 4 in the transfer portal though.Merkin wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 2:54 pmVeesaar can. And until the Cats replace Keshad, we may see him a lot out there. Re: Oumar Ballo
Tommy already said Veesaar was playing more 4 than 5 earlier. That would be a hell of a high low. Anderson is the guy I want to see. He is aggressive and has a mean streak.Merkin wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 2:54 pmVeesaar can. And until the Cats replace Keshad, we may see him a lot out there. Sucks as I was hoping to see a big development for him next year too.

Vessar works out by jumping off golf carts! How much more physical can you get?VegasCatFan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 2:59 pmIf Veesaar stays, I wouldn't mind seeing a lineup with those two, if they can play defense well enough. Who said Anderson is gone? Maybe he is but I thought he was committed to sticking around. Want to say where this came from or is it just a guess?

We've seen so little of Veesaar that it's pretty hard to assess any possible impact he could make next season.

So that's Borovicanin, Murauskas, Ballo and Anderson who are definitely gone. Plus Larsson and Johnson, who are out of eligibility.
Waiting on Boswell and Love.

The only player who can't play another year is Keshad. Pelle could come back if he wanted.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 9:00 pmSo that's Borovicanin, Murauskas, Ballo and Anderson who are definitely gone. Plus Larsson and Johnson, who are out of eligibility.

Still, is anyone *actually* thinking we could see Pelle back for another season at AZ?
Re: Oumar Ballo
I’d totally run Love, Pelle, Ballo +2 back.
Re: Oumar Ballo
Pelle is the guy I would want most back. He had a terrible last game but all season he was the glue that held us together. Don't think that is going to happen because of the options overseas and maybe a shot at the NBA.
Re: Oumar Ballo
Me too!! Any of them, actually!

This is depressing!
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Re: Oumar Ballo
Supposedly UNC is interested in Ballo. As much as I love Ballo he's not UNC good in my opinion. But I wish him nothing but the very best. Just a fantastic young man. Take all the NIL money you can get.
Re: Oumar Ballo
It should be intuitively obvious to the most casual of observers that if Oumar Ballo is good enough for Arizona he is good enough for UNC.
Re: Oumar Ballo
Crazy that he started for a better team than UNC last year.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 6:44 pm Supposedly UNC is interested in Ballo. Re: Oumar Ballo
Yes it is, especially for players like Ballo who are in the Portal for one reason..............$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
And the reason he's in the portal is because the UA doesn't have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ the B1G/SEC teams have.
Re: Oumar Ballo
I hate to play him next year in the Big12
Arizona big man Oumar Ballo set three official visits after he entered the transfer portal, per On3’s Joe Tipton.
Ballo set his transfer visits with Indiana between April 14-16, Louisville on the 16th to 18th and Kansas State between April 19-21. He’d be a welcome addition to any of the programs.

Re: Oumar Ballo
And what if he isn’t offered any more NIL money at another school; does he remain a Wildcat?
I will see you there, or I will see you on another time

Doubt Lloyd is holding a spot for him though. Once you enter the portal, you relinquish your scholarship.

Re: Oumar Ballo
I doubt he is solely leaving for money.
Tommy had to also make a call…is one more year of Ballo worth losing the rest of Krivas’ eligibility?
Can the NIL dollars be spent better at a different position of need more than center since we have Krivas?
I’m sure more too, but those just off the top of my head..

Re: Oumar Ballo
So, if Oumar goes to Kansas State, he and Krivas will play against each other 2-3 times.84Cat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 1:09 pm I hate to play him next year in the Big12

Who's gonna pick Krivas in RAP for those games???

Krivas has been practicing against Ballo all season, so does have that going for him.

Just saw a listing of the top 50 players in the portal. Omar is in the top 10.
Re: Oumar Ballo
Travis Branham put in a crystal ball for Indiana to pick up Ballo.

Cal and the chicken dude should be calling him. Might be the first time Cal has ever met a 6th year senior.

He visits unc next week as well
Re: Oumar Ballo
Glad he's getting payed. Assuming he does indeed end up at Indiana that came against Illinois should be something to watch.

Re: Oumar Ballo
Never make that in any pro league with his abilities, so I can certainly see why he went into the portal.
Nice for him too being a foreign "student" that he doesn't have to do shit for it.

Re: Oumar Ballo
Shitty tweet for what reason? It's been discussed openly he was looking at 500k+ on the open market.
Re: Oumar Ballo
It comes off to me as mocking Ballo’s value, showing off inside info that Scheer probably fed him, and as the resident Arizona-media-homer I would think he would be bummed to have lost Ballo to transfer not be stoked that he was gone. If he is purely happy that Ballo is getting paid and a big enough person to let the bygone of bailing on Arizona be bygone then I take it all back. Just came off as shitty to me when I saw it.Fishclamps wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 5:54 pm Shitty tweet for what reason? It's been discussed openly he was looking at 500k+ on the open market.

Re: Oumar Ballo
I read it as him being happy for Ballo. No shade detected.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Oumar made the most of his abilities while he was here and was a delightful person and represented the university well. Can't have enough Omar's on your team.

Yeah he has said it was a mutual parting of ways. We all wish Ballo nothing but the best and are happy he got that bag
Re: Oumar Ballo
"mutual parting of ways" - that could mean so many different specifics - a nice, vague statement that really betokens nothing more than mutual respect...Fishclamps wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 6:52 am Yeah he has said it was a mutual parting of ways. ... And, I'd expect nothing less between Ballo & CTL

We're going to miss Oumar next season. More than we missed Tubelis this past season. Krivas has a lot of upside, but there are things OB can do that Krivas can't.
