Can people stop with the frickin' "vaxxed?" comments? Young people have been dying every day for millennia. I imagine his being an alcoholic has more to do with it.

That is tragic. He has had his demons and hopefully that wasn’t what took him. He was engaged to be married and he seemed in a good place. RIP Grayson

I made the mistake of glancing at the comments. There are a lot of nut jobs out there.

Interestinly, ABC Australia Radio National lead the hourly news broadcast with an excellent obit for Walton, the second story was the landslide in PNG, followed by Gaza.

Just heard the sad news. My favorite player growing up.

Funny fact, I used to sneak over to the little league field next to mine where his son played and just stare at him.

He was a rare great scorer and great shooter and his head fakes to get his defender up in the air and then shoot over him when he was on the way down was legendary. Lakers announcer Chick Hearn used to say “West put him in the popcorn machine.”

Great GM as well. Just a Laker legend.

Really good memorial of Jerry West by David Aldridge - "Jerry West, as a player and exec, sustained excellence during a lifetime of emotional struggle"

I've worked (Quality Assurance/Improvement; Regulatory compliance) with a couple of adolescent residential facilities in New Mexico, and have heard some horrific stories from kids on treatment they received elsewhere - nothing as bad as those in this documentary.

I can affirm that government regulation, and especially enforcement of regulations, is absolutely necessary!!

The "issues" I raised, and concerns I might have had with the programs I worked with wouldn't even hit the radar in those places shown here! Internal controls and accountability are equally important.

I am automatically suspicious on such facilities that are religion-affiliated - ideology can corrupt even the best of intentions, and religious certainty too often is inconsistent with medical, rehabilitation and best practices...

OTOH, one does have to possess some saintly qualities, especially patience, empathy and resilience to work day-in-and-day-out with some of these damaged and traumatized kids! I deeply commend those that do it well!
