Agree. Might have been the best game he has played for Arizona. And with the way TCU kept coming back we needed just about all of it. Hoping these last 3 games from Love are a sign that he has turned the corner (his father told me at halftime that he told Caleb after the Bahamas that he needed to go back to being aggressive [or something like that]).

Like someone said in the in-game thread, no 3 point shot attempts until Love makes a basket at the rim.

I think I'm the 1 who said that and I 100% believe this to be the formula for good Love to show up.

We need more of last night’s Caleb. But at the very least a little more consistency.

He’s such a hot or cold player.

Looking up to see how well he does the following game where he made 40+% 3PT the prior game.

Interesting to note this is is the first game all season where Love made 40% of his 3's outside of McKale.

I also saw he averages 1 more steal a game on the road which is weird. You’d think a player would be more aggressive at home.

Love's defense is great compared to last year. He would have been blamed rightfully so for losing that game but has the balls to keep shooting on a bad night. It wasn't the shot that sent it to OT but the 2 3's in OT that took guts. Could have just past it out and let someone else take the shot.

It was so frustrating watching him miss a million times, but all anyone could talk about after the game was how he's the best player ever.

Someone said this was the most Caleb Love game ever, and yeah that's 100% true. Enjoy your night young man.

A goat for the first 39:59, then THE GOAT when he made that shot then hit a couple more in OT.

I thought the Fran Frischilla baseball analogy was a good one. a .240 hitter who gets 35 homers a year but strikes out 200 times.

Caleb strikes out his first 3 times v. ISU, then in the bottom of the 9th inning hits a home run to tie it. Then tops it off with another couple dingers in extra innings.

Caleb on the game-tying shot:"best moment of my life"

A bit surprising for a guy who's won a NC, MVP, etc...

And, for all the part-time Caleb Haters around here: Fuck You!!!
Love noted that he always is going to have confidence in himself to keep shooting, whether he's "1-for-10 or 10-for-10 ... you got to have confidence in yourself that the next one's going in."
The logic of a "shooter"!!

Awaka on his reaction to Love’s shot: “I was ecstatic, jumping up and down, running on to the court. Just a credit to our team and how we work, and how we stuck with it throughout the whole game. Props to Caleb as well. He’s a guy that goes through a lot. There’s a lot of pressure on his back. He goes to a lot of things mentally, too, that people might not see behind closed doors. So just seeing how he rose to the occasion, seeing how he’s been dealing with ups and downs this season, he’s one of the hardest workers I know. So just to see that ball go in for him, and then show up during overtime as well. It was just a blessing to see.”

Caleb had a very good game with 27 pts.,5 boards and 7 assists. Some of those passes were back breakers. Bryant had a unbelievable 10 rebounds.

The only worrisome thing to me is KJ. He is really really struggling on offense this year. He did have 8 critical rebounds and 4 assists and has played absolutely shutdown defense. Sparks the team that is clear. Needs to keep playing hard and watch the fouls. The offense will come.

JB struggling a bit on offense too but has a steady hand on the wheel. Just a collection of guys that play hard and believe in each other.

I also was happy to see Martinez play. He was steady and organized and not afraid to shoot when open. Gave us a good 4 or so minutes.

If anyone has a link to the post game please post it.

This is such bullshit.

Don't think Caleb will need Bobby's vote to get all conference.

My understanding is that you get suspended the following game if you are ejected for participating in a fight. (And head-butting sure seems like some kind of MMA move, approved or otherwise.) But getting ejected for complaining to the ref when he took too long mulling over whether he really wanted to call a foul on a blatant head-butt that happened right in front of him because the losing home crowd might not like it can't be called fighting. So no suspension for the BYU game. Meanwhile, if Freeman is suspended for their KSU game, that might explain further why Hurley's brain exploded in a yellow mushroom cloud.

Will be interesting to see if the voters can get past what happened at the end of the ASU game and vote for Love. Feel like the old Pac may have tried to send a message by giving it to someone else.

TTech also had 2 good wins (TCU and @ Houston) and while Toppin was great vs the Frogs he couldn’t go vs UH McMillian had 2 pretty good games scoring 16 and 23 points. Think BYU was the only other team to go 2-0 (Baylor and @UCF) with Saunders going for 17 and 22.

Should be Love’s week/award and it doesn’t appear to me to be a very close call.

Caleb was ejected for a Flagrant-2??? I'm posting this without comment...
Arizona's Caleb Love was ejected at ASU because of Flagrant 2 foul, Big 12 clarifies

By Bruce Pascoe

Arizona's Caleb Love was ejected from Saturday's UA-ASU game because of a Flagrant 2 foul, the Big 12 clarified to the Star late Sunday afternoon.

Both Love and ASU's BJ Freeman were ejected with 30 seconds left in the Wildcats' 81-72 win on Saturday at Tempe after Freeman head-butted Love and a heated exchange followed.

Officials ruled over the public-address system that Freeman was ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul but said only that Love "was also ejected," leading to speculation that Love might have been tossed for picking up two technical fouls during his response. A Big 12 spokesman said Sunday that both Freeman and Love were assessed Flagrant 2 fouls.

While Love's response did not appear to include contact on Freeman, the NCAA's definition of a Flagrant 2 foul also includes "extreme unsporting conduct" without contact during a live or dead ball.

Saying the Wildcats won with "no class," ASU coach Bobby Hurley said Freeman's head-butting resulted from chatter from Arizona players.

"Words that were said back and forth led to the moment where Freeman lost it, lost his cool, because of the constant talk that was allowed to go on," Hurley said.

When told of Hurley's comments, Love said he didn't know anything about it and that the Wildcats always respected their opponents.

"It was just two competitors going at it," Love said. “It escalated and the refs made a call. ... We just compete. It was a great atmosphere, great game and we came out on top.”

UA coach Tommy Lloyd said after Saturday's game that he had not seen video of it yet, but that the incident was "disappointing, probably on all sides."

“We want to be a program that, when the tough things happen, we want to respond with class," Lloyd said. "I don’t know if we did or didn’t but it was just a tough moment in an emotional game.”

If it actually was an F2 yes he would be out, even though clearly in game you see him get 2 Ts, and they never once said it was an F2.

I'm assuming UofA will get it clarified by Tuesday, but if Love is out then he's out, and we've won without him before.
