It's crazy they're coached by the same Johnny Dawkins that had such awful Stanford teams. Clearly he's figured things out more at UCF.

More games, more days, worse teams. Not a surprise if the interest this year in the Tuesday of the tourney doesn’t match the interest there was in former years when games started on Wednesday and featured Texas & OU, not ASU & Colorado.

“Nuh-uh!” isn’t actually a cogent argument.
You don't seem to get it. The Big12 fans are making the arguement that they fill the stands for the whole tournament........hence it should not be moved to Vegas where (according to the Big12 fanboys) nobody will show up.

You don’t seem to get it. The “whole tournament” is different this year than it was in the past.

You also don’t seem to get that other Big12 fans and the admin don’t give a ripe wet fart how badly you personally want the tourney in Vegas because it’s not like the tourney has ever been some big attendance/revenue failure.

Your argument seems to be with the fans of other Big12 schools. Why are you making it here? Who exactly are you convincing with your shitty takes? Start writing letters to Yormark. From what I know he doesn’t post here but I’m sure he’ll be swayed by your stance that because some rando on the internet said that the fans always pack every game and you saw some empty seats that Las Vegas is the only viable option. Yep, very convincing.

Just hand the trophy to Houston now and forget playing tomorrow.

Screaming all of the time? C’mon. You’re seeing something I’m not. I see him teaching and holding his players accountable. Are you arguing with the results?

does houston have their 1-seed locked? i mean everyone says they're gonna go hard not matter what, and it'd be the first big12 tourney title for both programs, but if it's a gravy game i wonder if we see them playing a little more loose and relaxed at say 70%. sit j'wan, light minutes for uzan and cryer. save a little something for the first round of the dance.
fwiw, tommy says he doesn't care if we're just five or six days out from the first round of NCAAs - they're playing to win tomorrow.

Not at all. He’s a very good coach but that’s not my point. Just thought last night he appeared to be over the top from the camera shots I kept seeing.

Maybe it was due to being short handed last night.

I said after our first game with TT I liked hm and new found respect. But last night I wasn’t a fan of his on court actions.

I will say his presser was total class.

I only saw him get in his players’ faces once and that was in the 2nd half when Bradley missed the reverse lay-in and Henri cleaned it up with the reverse dunk. Love was also right there and there wasn’t a TT player within five feet of any of them. I would have been yelling too.

The TV showed several instances where he got in players' faces as they approached the bench before a TO...

... pretty confrontive. So, I think we did see some of that.

But, he's obviously a good coach and motivator. (Imagine if we were down two starters last night!!)

Players live with these coaches and evolve relationships with one another. And, when it works, it works!! Who's to judge??

I saw nothing wrong at all with his behavior last night...

I saw 2 or 3 shots of him getting into faces including the time out huddle. But again maybe it was just his way of motivating his team last night - he did say in his presser since they were shorthanded he had to have his team match Arizona’s physicality.

He’s also a good friend of CTL and will be coaching with him this summer.

Sampsons post BYU presser is singular. His countenance and intensity reminds me of my familial Grandfather. If anyone ever sees the man smile, post a link cause I'd be interested.

Paging enfuego, pick up the white courtesy phone.

This post aged well.

3rd in the regular season, 2nd in the tourney. Locked into a 4 seed.

How'd KU end up?

If Houston doesn't make the Final 4 someone must have gotten hurt. One of the best teams in the country.

Yeah with the Final 4 in their backyard they really have the odds if they make it there.

It's ALL about match-ups!! Geography makes minimal difference. (Except, in Chicago!!!  :? )

Especially when Final Fours are played in indoor football stadia....

We just spent a year hearing how unbelievable Copper Flagg was. Well a guy that has the potential to be as good is going to BYU next year. Some of his accolades:

AJ Dybantsa was the youngest player to compete in the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit, finishing with a game-high 21 points, going 7-of-14 from the field, 2-of-7 from three and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. He also had seven rebounds, three assists and two steals going against the top recruits in the 2024 class, including Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper and Asa Newell. He was a year younger.

He was named the Peach Jam Offensive MVP after leading the Oakland Soldiers to the title game. He averaged 23.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He also earned Nike EYBL 17U First Team accolades in July, when he averaged 22.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 50.2 percent from the field.

He is ranked the number #1 player in the country almost unanimously.

BYU's NIL is crazy and it will get bigger.
