Apparently you can’t make double payment on credit cards. It’s some sort of anti-money laundering thing. Your monthly payment will be applied and credited to account. A second payment will take your funds and not credit the amount to your account until the next month. I once paid off a card lol a week after I paid the minimum, and lost the several grand for the payment but it didn’t open up the space for the trip I was prepping for.
Pretty sure that depends on the company. The credit union I worked for for 17 years never did that with payments. You can't pay a credit card ahead for the next month but your funds were available to use pretty much right away.

I just know the card I used, a travel card, didn’t have the space to do what I was looking for, and I simultaneously did it with Amazon and couldn’t pay for a new Pool motor when needed because of it. Both happened same time.

It makes sense after the fact, because some cards can be leveraged for cash out, so the laundering aspect is true.

But yeah, when a Pool pump goes out a week after the payment was made, or when concert tickets go live and you need like $1000 bucks since tickets are mad expensive yo… it was infuriating. Tried to leverage reward points for the bigger purchases instead of cash.

My apologies for being a Luddite here, but I beg some explanation. 1) I have always refused debit cards because why? BOA always presses me to get them as a means of ID, HAR! and I always say FU. 2) I always make single full payments per month to credit cards. Are y'all saying some banks/cc issuers will allow only one payment per month to apply to a balance? I ask because I have often made payments in advance in order to establish a credit in advance of 2 month overseas travel. But as best I can recall, it never entailed making 2 payments within a month or within a monthly payment period. Is this how they skew the application of second payments to another time period such that they can optimize fees? Fuckers! I have a premium account with BOA and those cunts generally bend over for me when I bring threats and drama to our relationship, but evidently I never understood the parameters being discussed here.

Have I got this right?

Something similar happened to me. My Chase cash back credit card has a limit of $15K and I wanted to make an $18,000 purchase for a bath remodel. That card has no current balance. I transferred $4000 from my checking to the credit card, trying to get a $4000 credit when the $18,000 charge comes in then tried to make the purchase. No luck, had to put balance on another credit card.

Yeah you typically can't make a purchase over your approved credit limit. My credit union used to actually allow you to pay over your limit and use it like you described though merk. That went away a while ago though.

For dove, any revolving line of credit such as a credit card can only have one payment per month that applies to advancing a due date. Sometimes I make 2-3 payments on my credit card a month, but it only changes the due date once. This is unlike a car loan where it would advance the due date by 2-3 months.

Not before remodeling your kitchen to the tune of $150k and building a farm to table backyard organic raised bed enterprise of equal cost. They replace all your prized bourbon with Scotch and red wine. They turn Femcat into Julia Child, and your boys into bulimic girl TikTok influencers. You are the last to die. And you don't want to know the details.

Be nice to the starter.

Update: We have bread. And it’s pretty good.

I’d still like to go back in time to when we didn’t have this bullshit starter though. Not worth the angst.

I'm sure you can buy it- but most people make their own- It's literally flour and water and "feeding" it over a week. Its easy. Just Google sourdough starter

Ours was given to us by neighbors like a monkey’s paw curse, but as Ari said you can make your own.

Just don’t give it to your neighbors or they’ll secretly hate you.

My wife who was an educator just told me this. Explains the 2016 and 2024 elections.

In 2024, the US adult literacy rate is approximately 79%, meaning 21% of adults struggle with basic literacy skills, and 54% read below a 6th-grade level.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Overall Literacy Rate: About 79% of U.S. adults are considered literate, meaning they can perform tasks requiring comparing and contrasting information, paraphrasing, or making low-level inferences.
Low Literacy Skills: Around 21% of adults struggle with these tasks, with 26.5 million at level 1 and 8.4 million below level 1.
Adults Reading Below 6th Grade: 54% of adults have a literacy level below the 6th-grade level.
Functionally Illiterate: 21% of adults are considered functionally illiterate, meaning they score at Level 1 or below.

Uh, did you wife offer any correlation between this data and voting/non-voting or actual voting patterns?

Somebody tell KKunt for me that blaming the DOE after decades of GOPer defunding is like making CTL sell Girl Scout cookies for NIL $ and then blaming him for having homeless gun nuts as starters.
