Another effin slow middle

Post by 77HoyaCat4Ever »

We seem to have cured the slow starts and have had great fast starts where we jump all over the opponent (UTEP, UNLV, Oregon)

and then comes the effin SLOW MIDDLE

Gotta play hard and focused with intensity for the whole game.

Incredible

Maybe, just maybe, we are like any other team and will have inconsistent play with a bunch of amateur 18-22 yo athletes. Woe is us, we are the ONLY elite team that doesn't play efficiently 40 mpg every game!

Take a look around at the CBK scoreboards any given day. Top 10 teams struggle with competition on the daily, some even (*GASP*), LOSE!

 I'm convinced Sean consults a magic 8-ball for his lineup decisions:

Start lottery pick RHJ? "Ask again later"
Should Stanley start? "Cannot predict now"
Start the obvious 5 best players (TJ, SJ, RHJ, BA, KT)? "Signs point to yes!"
Should I bench this lineup after they start the game up 15-0? "Yes definitely"
TJ is having the game of his life - should I sub in PJC a lot? "Without a doubt"

You cannot let crap teams like Oregon and UNLV hang around with these baffling decisions or you're gonna take some unnecessary Ls

Call me Sherlock Holmes but I notice a big drop off when the 5best players (TJ SJ RHJ BA KT) are inexplicably sat for long stretches in favor of York, Pitts, PJC

The ore game was a blowout after 5 min, TJ on fire and Kaleb playing like white Shaq. What do we do? Remove them all except TJ for York Pitts PJC and Ristic at the same time. Result: Lead whittled down to 3

We also continue to leave Bash/Pitts/York out on a defensive island to get abused over and over by whatever scrub du jour is having the game of his life. Clawful defensive strategy, but that's "what we do".

"Shakes magic 8 ball" is riseandfire a troll who cannot see the forest for the tree? Without a doubt.

Hey, this thing works.

Our starters played 149 out of 200 total minutes. You want MORE?!

Then in some later game when we need an effective bench: "Miller should've developed the bench more!"

Maybe--just maybe--Miller wants the second unit out there to see not who can score in the group, but who can play DEFENSE as a group.

I know, novel concept for a man who even ran out a second five for extended minutes in the first half of his NCAA second-round game against Texas, right?

Sorry, you forgot about Kyryl-Horne-Lavender-Mayes-Parrom?

*cough*

Paulina Meat Market is amazing.

Ho boy.
Erlich Bachmann: Richard wrote the code, yes, but the inspiration was clear. Let me ask you something. How fast do you think you could jack off every guy in this room? Cause I know how long it would take me. And I could prove it.
