New BYU series
TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona football will play a series with BYU, scheduled for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, it was announced on Tuesday in conjunction with the Cougars.

The Wildcats will travel to Provo, Utah for a contest at BYU on Sept. 12, 2026. In 2027, Arizona will host the Cougars on Sept. 11, 2027.

In April 2013, Arizona and BYU announced a three-game series for the 2016, 2018 and 2020 football seasons. The Cats and the Cougars will meet at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. in 2016 and in Tucson, Ariz. in 2018. Originally scheduled for the 2020 season in Provo, the third game of the series will now be played in Las Vegas during the 2021 season.

Even if it's Sam Boyd again, I was happy to see this news.

I'm surprised that Vegas hasn't got its act together to create a football venue that could host a major event. I know there have been discussions but doesn't look like there has been any significant movement recently.

p.s. am I the only one that gets liver spots seeing confirmed dates 12 years in the future and thinking about how old you will be when that game is played?

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Vegas actually has a pretty sizable LDS population, and it's an easy drive from other areas with a lot of Mormons. The East Valley, Salt Lake/Provo, etc. Not surprised by this. But if they're going to have a new stadium in Vegas by 2021 they'd better get crackin' on it because 7 years isn't a lot of time in the scheme of things when it comes to building major sports venues.

Eh it only took 27 months to build levis stadium in Santa Clara. They could not even finalize plans until 2018 and have it ready by 2021.

When do tickets for the 2016 in Glendale become available? I will be there, probably combining that trip with my annual late summer/early fall Vegas trip.
