CaninFL, what do you think the likelihood is that we get McKenzie/Gibson?
Re: Current 2015 Commits
Gibson is an attention whore. A talented one, but he seems interested in us. I think if McKenzie picks us we have a pretty good chance with Gibson, but I'm not sold on McKenzie coming here like some (chief). On landing both of them right now I'd give us a 30% chance. McKenzie I'll give us a 40% chance.TuiTouchdown wrote:CaninFL, what do you think the likelihood is that we get McKenzie/Gibson?

No. He just takes off and runs all the time. Doesn't allow plays to develop. He needs a lot of work.

Ryan Davis?
Re: Current 2015 Commits
Well, Ryan Davis is going to play WR for FSU probably. He did the same thing though Gibson has better arm strength. Gibson is worse than Randall with the happy feet and wanting to run. Much work needed for a kid who thinks he's God.

So I'm going to assume Gibson wasn't the QB you were alluding to from the start? Do you like the QB the staff will likely end up with?chiefzona wrote:Well, Ryan Davis is going to play WR for FSU probably. He did the same thing though Gibson has better arm strength. I was alluding to Gibson. He has good tools just needs a QB guru to work with him. I am skeptical of him being a Wildcat...I could be wrong but it looks like there are one or two plan b's.

Re: Current 2015 Commits
I'm skeptical as well. On Gibson's recent blog post he talks about Auburn/TN visits and wanting to visit tOSU. I read as Gibson doing some damage control.I was alluding to Gibson. No mention of Arizona.
Several schools wanting Gibson to be a WR in college. Gibson wants to be a QB. Just Guessing that plays a role with UA. That and the rumors most schools have backed off Gibson.
Also, Sounds like Kahlil McKenzie will be on Vols fan Internet radio show tonight (7pm Tucson) taking questions http://www.blogtalkradio.com/volislife @volislife

I know we're all waiting patiently for the KM announcement. In the meantime, I just saw latest commit, Antonio Park's highlight reel and wanted to share. Looks like a quick, hard hitter.

Re: Current 2015 Commits
Flannigan needs to be changed to Mountain View. Possibility he might not be able to play his Sr year. Word is recruiter from SDSU notified Tucson High that Bam from Desert View was illegally recruiting Flannigan. Complaint was filed well before Flannigan transferred.

Man, I wish Desert View would start recruiting some kids. We haven't won much of anything in 20 years.

Picked up a new commitment, a TE no less. Appears that RichRod and co. are serious about integrating TEs into the system.

We have a new commitment for JC TE Matt Morin
Wonder if this means Woods is moving to DE? Or maybe we're losing someone? Cloy perhaps?

Starting to wonder about Ricky McCoy.
Re: Current 2015 Commits
and the AIA has ruled Flannigan ineligible for this year due to rules violations.
Re: Current 2015 Commits
This victory will hopefully open a few more recruiting doors for the Cats. Come on down, recruits! RR is getting this puppy rolling!
Go CAts!!
Go CAts!!
Re: Current 2015 Commits
I would love 4* or 5* but our 2* guys ball out and believe they can out play 4* or 5* ie OREGONE. OKG for life. Scooby is the definition of OKG!
Re: Current 2015 Commits
Do we know if Oregon had any recruits on their official visits that the Cats are in on too that we could possibly steal away? Wishful thinking I know!
Re: Current 2015 Commits
We've also got 2 additional schollies to give out now that Bush-Loo and Allen are gone.
Re: Current 2015 Commits
Arizona did offer teammates Boss Tagola and Devin Asiasi according to Adam Gorney.

I heard that Matty D and some of the other staff hit the road after the game on Thurs to ride the hype wave. I hope it pays off.

I saw that Kendal Franklin (commit) is visiting this weekend, has anyone heard of anyone else coming to town for a sell-out against SC?

I'm curious what else it is that RR and his staff have to prove to Arizona fans as far as recruiting goes? That they recruit the player "they want" instead of what a recruiter thinks and are right way more times than the so called recruiter is? They took a QB in Denker that had no business playing QB in the Pac 12 and helped him lead us to 8 wins and a bowl victory. Said this numerous times but that alone is one of the single greatest coaching jobs ever. There aren't 5 other coaches in the country who could've done what RR and company did with Denker LY. Period.
Scooby Wright, no need to go over the fact that a bunch of Pac 12 schools passed on him while Arizona offered the next day after watching his film. Then flew a private jet a couple of months later just to visit him and make sure his commitment was solid. That's all old news at this point and I'm guessing a bunch of pac 12 schools have similar stories with 2 star recruits?
It's a skill to be able to not only judge talent but to project where that talent will be once you get them on campus. Arizona's coaching staff as proven that they have that skill and it's a skill that trumps most if not all of the staffs in the Pac 12. If that's not the case then maybe somebody can explain why no other school in the Pac 12 offered Scooby a scholi? Not one. He sent tape to every school in the Pac 12 yet only one offered a scholi and he wins 3 national awards as the best defensive player in the country. I'm sure our recruiting will stay "underwhelming" as far as the so called recruiters go. RR and company run rings around those guys.
