It maybe be a tough no call because he took a bad shot expecting the foul call. But to me it was no foul. Guy was inside the 3 point line and didnt create any contact. Pretty much straight up (haha!)

Yea depending how you look at it, a tough call.

These are play in games.

I am not sure that is accurate, at least by wikipedia. It says the play in game ended after 211 when they expanded the field to 65. It says this is the first round and tomorrow starts the second round and these teams are all considered tourney participants.

Not a big deal either way but I wonder if there is some official designation about these 4 games
It's semantics. They are in and these 4 games are considered the 1st round.... but they are play in games. But everybody considers tomorrow the 1st day of the tourney.
You are both correct. Officially, technically this is the first round. But I'm with ALieb.

If a large majority of the population can't get these games on their regular cable package, did they ever really happen?

Kudos to Archie, but TruTv is only relevant for like 2 days out of the year.

Dayton getting to play a home game is still bull shit....but congrats to them and Archie for pulling out the win.

UCLA should have been in that game. Then at least people would be 8% less annoyed they got in at all.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I actually think the "At Least It's Not The NIT™" games should be for borderline at-large teams only and that it should be a penalty for just being adequate enough for the committee to give you a slot. I think conference and conference tournament champions should be rewarded with a game in the "second" round, in the actual tournament that people actually watch. UCLA and Indiana should absolutely have had to play for their slots in the field of 64.

I've seen that call made before, but I hate every time it is. Getting someone slightly in the air and jumping into them then flailing isn't any basketball move, it's to try to get a whistle. I don't have an issue with it not getting called last night because I think that play should be whistled with less frequency period.

Guess this was inevitable with the no-match shoes. UAB going with the mismatched shoes on each player. It's working so far.

 They're only 7/7 for 16 points on their first seven possessions...no problem, right?

It will be real interesting if Baylor hits their first couple threes against us. Might be fighting from behind for a bit.

If we play Baylor not worried about their zone seems like the short corner is always open. Ashley and Stanimal should take advantage.

And that switching between 1-3-1 and 2-3 by a team with real length on the wings is something Arizona would have to work hard to break. Even if we were to, Baylor isn't soft at all, and we'd have to roll with their punches until the end.

Fuck you Iowa State.
