Hopefully it's just a spur-like growth, but the equivalent of 1.6 inches is pretty big.

A good friend has just died from cancer in his one kidney that he had left.. It was sudden and unexpected. The doctors are in shock at how fast he went.

My old car died, and it needs a new engine. I am in the process of buying a new car but have to wait for my Subaru Legacy to arrive. In the meantime my knee became injured and I have to walk in pain. When they took the x-ray they found calcification of the knee and a 4 cm bone growth and liquid buildup in my knee. They are concerned that I may have osteosarcoma and will have an MRI in a few weeks to learn more. Meanwhile I have to walk to get picked up for work. And my job entails a lot of walking. I have to work in pain for now.
Agree with Dean. Sarcoma left unchecked is truly awful. So I’m very glad something happened to call attention to it (maybe).
Fingers crossed it’s not Sarcoma and you’re on the road to recovery from just a knee injury.

I just received the results from my MRI on my knee. No cancer. Thank goodness! Just a PCL strain and probable slight MCL tear. I have edema (fluid buildup) around the patella. And minor bursitis.
Conclusion: I'm getting old.

The wife had an MRI Monday for a sinus issue. Found a small mass in her brain. Set her up with an emergency CT Wed. Waiting for results with much trepidation...

I think his wife has metal dental work that caused an image artifact to be caused in the CT scan that looked like a mass.
I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV so I will wait for UAdevil to confirm.

Some good news right now. Results from my last endoscopy just released and the new polyp found was just a polyp, no tumor. The old site, where he wasnt sure he got it all the first time, also came back as negative for any cancer cells. So for the time being, I'm classified as no evidence of disease. Can't technically be "cancer free" with neuroendocrine tumors for what feels like a decade, but still a relief. Was getting pretty surreal for a bit.

One of my Phoenix area college buddies, whose brother in-law is among my best friends, was diagnosed with cancer right before Christmas. Squamous Cell Carcinoma - cancer of the skin's top layer. Unfortunately it's Stage 4, far enough along for his right femoral head (ball in hip joint) to be severely eroded. Hip replacement surgery was scheduled right away and completed successfully, though periodic use of a wheelchair is needed. Post-surgery he is now undergoing chemotherapy.
It's all happening so fast and I feel terrible for him and how devastated this has been for his family. He's only 34 with a wife and three young children including a 3 month old. No one saw this coming, and looking back, there aren't any apparent clues anything was off. A very active, outdoorsy person until hip surgery.

Got some good news yesterday: my new Urologist saw a tumor in my bladder so I had (probably) my 20-somethingth resection at St. Mary's hospital. But the pathology report said it was just some scar tissue left over on the battlefield. So I'm into headed toward 7 years without recurrence. Wahoo. Now I'll get hit by a bus going to lunch.

Also a major bit of good news - after hearing no updates from my Phoenix college buddy for almost six weeks, I got on the phone with him last Friday: After successes with Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy overseen at Arizona's unique Cancer Treatment Centers of America facility, his brother-in-law's Stage 4 cancer is official in REMISSION. So much so that he's returning to work this next month.
He is still living a number of limitations and under routine medical care, but to go from a Stage 4 diagnosis with low livability beyond one year to returning to work with a good outlook ahead is about the best outcome anyone, including his entire church, could've hoped and prayed for!
