Tier 2 has UW, Oregon, SC and Cal.
Last tier is OSU, WSU and ASU.

Lost in the first round of the NIT to Pastner. Wouldn't even host:
Indiana's Season Ends Quietly After Dumb NIT Stadium Controversy
http://deadspin.com/indianas-season-end ... 1793283796
However, Indiana seemed to want no part of the NIT. As a No. 3 seed, they earned the right to host their first-round game against Georgia Tech, but IU wanted no part in hosting *gasps, clutches pearls* an NIT game. IU officials declined to host the game, instead sending the team to Atlanta.
ESPN initially reported that Bloomington Assembly Hall was under construction, although the IU athletic department denied that, claiming they didn’t want to play a game when the student body was on spring break. The only problem with that is plenty of other schools with students on spring break chose to host NIT games, none of whom besides Syracuse can expect the sort of numbers IU can.
AD Fred Glass eventually settled on a third reason; he didn’t want to “devalue” Assembly Hall by hosting an NIT game. That’s awfully haughty, especially for a school that has hosted NIT games in the past.
As for their NIT appearance, the Hoosiers came out of the gate lifeless against Georgia Tech, quickly trailing 17-4, before eventually losing 75-63. Even if they didn’t do so at home, the Hoosiers still shuffled off stage left without much protest.

I'm assuming it goes something like:ASUHATER! wrote:any examples?SirClinks wrote:Went and took a look at one of the Indiana boards and their lists for coaches they should go after is hilarious.
Brad Stevens.
Billy Donovan.
Coach K.
Steve Alford.
In all seriousness, that's the sort of job I assume that Archie Miller would be a major name when people get realistic.
Re: Coaching Searches 2017
Jay Wright was popping up a bunch. Dont know why he would leave Nova when he already has a natty. Also Sean Miller. Some think they can get Billy Donovan back to college. Same with Brad Stevens.ASUHATER! wrote:any examples?SirClinks wrote:Went and took a look at one of the Indiana boards and their lists for coaches they should go after is hilarious.
edit: They seem very split on if they would want Alford.

I don't know why some of these schools aren't taking a harder look/charge at Tony Benett.

I know Stevens is from Indiana but he is doing really well with the Celtics and seems well suited for the NBA. Donovan I guess could jump back since he lost Durant last year. It will be interesting to see who they actually pursue. I don't see CSM wanting to go there at all but Archie might listen and that would be a great hire.ASUHATER! wrote:I don't think that Stevens or Donovan are completely unrealistic. Indiana fans think donovan is in talks to take over for Cream. If he stays in the NBA, Sean Miller is their backup plan. Some want Alford more than Sean, some hope Alford never coaches at Indiana.
THey also compare themselves to the Alabama of college basketball.ot considering the odds of them choosing to come to INDIANA, this would be my order:
1. Stevens
2. Donovan
3. Marshall
4. Sean Miller
5. Bennett
6. Archie Miller
7. Alford
8. Collins
Apparently Donovan wants the job.

Doug Gottlieb is openly campaigning for the OSU job. Which would be a terrible move if they even considered it.
The OSU AD way underpaid him with the promise that if they won in his first year they would renegotiate. He won, but the AD refused to talk about upping his base salary. Dumb move OSU.NYCat wrote:One and done

I know for a fact that Shay Binion could coach Washington, Cal, & Indiana simultaneously all next season.
On nights when the teams have games on the same night he could just skype plays in from the sideline. Have 2 phone holsters on his belt with a beeper. ( for some added class )
Think of the savings too! I bet Shay would do it for like 35grand a year. He could finally move out of moms house. Get a lot of pub from ESPN for coaching 3 teams at once. Win win in my book.

That's a fantastic hire for UW based on what they could realistically get. If Cal hires Bennett then the coaching just improved by quite a bit in the conference.

Surprised Chris Collins's name isn't popping up more in these coaching search discussions going on.

Lmao @ Indiana fans. Brad Stevens has probably bumped himself into the top 6 coaches in the NBA right now. Indiana is at best one step backwards for Miller in a perfect world, two when u look at who he has coming back and who he has coming in. Indiana is beneath Donovan at this point. Greg Marshall has it made at Wichita State and will not leave until one of the top 8 programs opens up.
Alford would be an alltime mistake for Indiana. That program is hanging by a string and one more bad hire and that program would be done
