The Arizona Board of Regents has formally approved University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins’ 10% pay cut and elected its new chair.

Robbins’ new base salary has been reduced from $816,008 to $734,407. His individual annual and multiple-year at-risk compensation goals have also been eliminated. Those had potential values of an additional $150,000 and $120,000, respectively.

Talking to Longhorned was incredibly illuminating. He’s on the faculty senate and has been privy to a lot of the behind the scenes stuff that I’m not sure I can mention here, so I’ll let him tell it if he chooses to if/when he returns to the board.

That doesn't make any sense, hurt the students to get back at the administration? Those grades are needed for employment, scholarships and so on.

I imagine "some professors" are actually "very few professors".

Note it is very difficult to fire tenured professors, although it can be done. For example, one professor at the school I worked at brought his laptop to the service desk to get it worked on. The tech found child porn on it. Needless to say, he was gone very quickly.
