we'll get a brief respite from the heat early next week with highs around 98 for a couple days. but other than that it looks like it is supposed to be around 108 the rest of the next couple weeks.

Still a 70" snow base at the main lodge at Mammoth mountain. 225" at the mountain summit. You'll probably be able to ski until the 4th of July up there. It'll be warm next week though. 75 degree sunshine skiing in mid June

A/C is barely able to keep up in my old house. The bedrooms (with massive, 70 year old, single pane windows on 2 walls) are up to about 83/84 degrees by this time in the afternoon and don't cool down.

I'm actually looking forward to staying in a holiday inn express for 2 nights this week for work. they have a/c that will cool it down below 80.

Embrace it. As a poor grad student, I once spent two summer months traveling around turkey in 100+ degree heat staying in cheap hotels without A/C. Then I went to stay in my mother's house in Arizona and had to keep the thermostat at 85 to keep from feeling too cold.

I work in a corporate building that's probably at 72 all day. The only time I feel the heat is on my way to the car which is parked under a garage. Once I get home, it has great insulation so it doesn't take long to get back to 77. This is the only way I could survive this crazy heat.

Still 84 in our bedroom at 11:23 pm according to my thermapen thermometer. 74 in my bathroom 15 feet away though. Gotta love 70 year old brick houses with their original huge single-pane windows and scratch-your-head worthy post construction a.c. and duct work installations.

One of the best investments is adding insulation and replacing old windows. We had those old crank out windows and replaced them with double pane ones while adding extra insulation to the crawl space. That easily paid for itself within 5 years and our house is so much more comfortable. No more hot spots in our house either.

We rent and our landlord lives in California and the management company in Tucson usually takes a week to respond to communications if at all. We usually don't make a fuss about anything unless it's an emergency because we're paying significantly less in rent than comparable units around town.

Just watched some short and ridiculous video from the weather channel about how thankfully the country is cooling down this weekend from their ongoing summer hell. Apparently the rest of the country has been battling temperatures in the mid to upper 80s all week long. Poor babies. They'll be back to their normal mid to upper 70s temps over the next couple of days.
