Salave'a should most definitely be on our staff. Maybe the next coach will rectify that horrible mistake.

Then he should do something to earn similar treatment... and right now he ought to be more focused on deserving & protecting the income he already has.

What McIntyre has done is terrific and deserving of recognition, but I have to wonder if in 2-3 years they are not going to regret that. See ND, UA, etc...

It was, after all, only one season - even if it was a Phoenix rising from a decade of ashes,

Next season it's no stretch to say Colorado might be back in the basement given how much roster turnover they face.

So Horny was at Baylor, but now he is a Longhorn? Will he be a Horned frog next?

Between the training incident and this, Oregon's new staff is off to a great start:

Good on Houston Nutt. All he asked for was a public apology, and they wouldn't give it.

Sucks to be Ole Miss/Hugh Freeze.

I can't believe it was hookers and not blatant cash payments to players that brought him down.

I'm sure those will be part of the impending sanctions that are placed on Southern Mississippi.

His departure due to a single call to an escort is awfully thin.

In the press conference they basically said that this was happening often

Sounds more likely. I didn't look too deep as we get enough SEC news without looking for it.

Yep, shocked at this turn of events. Could you imagine RR giving up his guarantee.....not a chance. What a mess Oregon St is. The PAC is really not a great conference this year. A lot of weak teams, especially in the south

I don't think Andersen was a fan of his staff.

It is not clear if Canzano got Andersen’s clearance to publish the texts or made it clear to Andersen that he was going to publish them, but publish them he did. Of interest: Andersen’s thoughts on his coaching staff.

(September 4, after a 35-32 win over Portland State): “Self promoting… that’s what this business has become!!… That’s the biggest reason I am not long for this (expletive)!! Kids are a second thought or third or fourth!!”

(September 9, after a 48-14 loss to Minnesota) “Hard place right now… one thing I guarantee you is this: This staff needs to figure it out. I ain’t going to die doing this (expletive)! It’s on me and I get that and right now I hired the wrong guys!! Beaver Nation deserves much better! End of story!!”

Andersen (Sept 12):"I have them by the (expletive) for every penny, no buyout for the next four not counting this year... but that's not my style!! If it does not improve I will do some crazy (expletive) with my salary so I can pay the right coaches the right money!!"

(September 20, four days after a 52-23 loss to Washington State) “I hired the wrong (expletive) guys and are still working our way through a bunch of recruiting years that stunk!! It’s year three! If these (expletives) can’t get it right I will not just say fire them and start over!! That’s not the way to go about it. If I (expletive) it up that bad I will take the bullet and ride off into the sunset! I will stay old school!! I will not die doing this (expletive)!! Stay tuned!”

Andersen (Sept. 24):"Riot act has been read to this staff. We shall see what takes place. I have got to see better football regardless of who we are playing!!"

Andersen (Sept. 24):"Need five graduate transfers in this class!!... I am in a good spot. Got a lot of '(expletive) everything' in me and that's when I am at my best!! Staff understands their (expletive) is on a short rope!! We are not great today but I expect to be better as we move forward this season!! I like this fight!"

Andersen (Sept. 30):"That's my best shot!! I will give it that again next week!! That offense is embarrassing!! On me I hired the (expletives)!"

I don't know why Taggart would choose Florida over Oregon. More pressure, far more recruiting competition, no money difference, no program potential difference.

If it was me, I would easily stick with Oregon.

I think the backyard recruiting (top kids can still be close to home), prestige (National Champs) and $$$$ http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/ make the Florida job still pretty attractive.
