They are down a player, on the road with a quick two day turnaround. While they have won on the road they certainly have played better at home so they are vulnerable.

Delly is really becoming a much needed weapon
One of the best shooters in the country but quite possibly the worse defender in the country. We need him though
How does he end up behind his man giving up easy lay ins so often? It’s baffling how often he’s trying to catch up to a ballhandler.
I guess I can live with it if he gives up 10 but gives us 12. But someone teach ADO how to stay in front of his man in the offseason!
It is absolutely a terrible habit. This is what a player coming from a team where he can't foul out because of his offense looks like. It is maddening. Trail and funnel was what he must have been taught. Delly serves a purpose as do a few of the not typical guys. Putting them together to make a cohesive team is what to me is interesting about college basketball.

What's the difference between an optimist and a pessimist?
The optimist says the glass is half full.
The pessimist says the glass is half full but I might have bowel cancer.

For a lot of voters it takes losses by teams ahead of us to move us in, so we probably need those teams in the 20-29 range to lose possibly multiple times before we do to get ranked.
Not close = Not soon
Losing to Texas Tech set that timeline back I’m guessing. We likely would have been ranked this week had we won.

The line moving 3 points toward Arizona is crazy. I would have chalked this one at ISU -7 though I know KP says -2. Hopefully the gamblers know what they are doing but I would have said "bad matchup for Arizona" otherwise. The game largely in my view will hinge on Arizona's guards being strong with the ball and not intimidated by ISU's on ball defense and by the Cats putting in the requisite effort on the defensive glass. Maybe the gamblers feel like Arizona is going to lock up ISU defensively?

Looking at the Bracket Matrix-
Against teams ahead of us in the rankings we are: 0-2
Our other 4 losses are vs 6 seed WV, 7 seed Texas Tech (although I think they will move up even more when the update next) 8 seed UCLA and 9th seed Oklahoma
And as of now our best wins are vs 6 seed WV 8 seed Baylor and 11 seed Central Florida.
So basically- our schedule really hasn't been that tough / we are beating all the mid to bad teams and do not have a marque win on our resume.
We need this 1 tonight.

Agreed that this game is vital to our NCAA seeding and that we need it bad.
Unless WVU gets those three starters/contributors back, they will slide down to a likely 8-10 seed. I agree Tech will move up and I think UCF will get to a 8 or 9 seed.
Really still disappointed we lost to OU and UCLA. Both of those games we should have won

At the game. There’s A LOT of ISU fans here. In my 97 replica jersey, Wilber socks, Arizona Nike, and even switched my watch band to white. Never worn this to a game before so we’ll see how this outfit works.
Let’s fucking go! Bear Down everyone!
So we all agree I have to go to every white out game and wear the exact same outfit, right? Good.
It's so nice being in a conference where other teams travel, but damn those fans got LOUD. Now I know how the rest of the Pac 12 felt when we traveled. Lots of very sad faces when they left. Hope they enjoyed Tucson!
The game was pretty much what I expected. Like everyone else I was thinking we were going to come up a little short when Caleb hit that shot. Everyone freaked the hell out and couldn't believe it after the night he had! OT was a bit stressful at first, but once the 3s kept going down it was a fucking party! If I didn't have an early lesson with a student tomorrow I would've stayed to hear Tommy's comments. Even on the way back to my car everyone was cheering and yelling Bear Down. I was at the Florida game but this was way more insane than that!
Hope Tommy can calm everyone down enough to go kick ASU's ass on Saturday. Last thing we need is a let down game against those fuckers.

Great game and team played defense and adjusted to how the officials. Tobe said so post game - got an early foul but when he saw the refs were letting them play he let it ripped going after everything. Previous seasons we don’t seem to adjust well so kudos to Tommy.
Only criticism is Tommy allowing Delly to start in the second half and letting him stay till the under 16 time out. Literally lost the lead and put us against our backs. It was clear to even the casual fans that Delly can’t guard any of the ISU players and add to the fact he was getting nothing on offense, a total liability. Not to mention his very suspect handles.

My thoughts from McKale last night:
My voice may be lost permanently.
As soon as we got into McKale last night and made our trek around to find our seats... something was different.... Everyone in white except many little pockets of yellow. I've been to many games at McKale... but I've never seen this many opposing fans. It was kind of shocking.
This shock continued as the game started going on. When Iowa St made a few good plays, you could hear people yelling, screaming and clapping. I have NEVER heard this before at McKale. Cat fans started looking around in confusion almost saying "What the fuck is this about?" I now understand what other fans feel when "Bear Down" breaks out in their arenas. But I felt this just gave Cats fans more reason to loud and rowdy.
The Caleb Love shot will be remembered for decades. It will be added to all of their highlight videos.
Tobe was a fucking monster.
Carter Bryant is as smooth as they come.
No one has more heart and grit than KJ
Bradley was steady all night... and he had like 8 steals or something ridiculous like that?
Caleb..... his shot was off most of the night... but he brought it on both sides the court all game long.
Finally... post game walking back to our car...
Like I said... I've been to many big wins at McKale over my lifetime... but I've never witnessed the type of energy outside... post game... of the crowd piling out. It was fucking loud outside with everyone still in awe of what they witnessed.
It was the coolest game of any sport I've ever been to.
BTFD!!!!!

Delly is a key part of the eight-man rotation. He HAS to play time in EVERY game - as does EVERY other of those
8 men".
Last nite both Delly (13 minutes) and Henri (16 Minutes) were mostly overwhelmed by the size and strength of ISU; both sat for most of the second half.
We were lucky that the refs called the game loosely because none of the other six players fouled out, or were in significant fouls trouble. OTOH, allowing such physical play also likely contributed to both Delly's and Henri's problems.
Jaden (6) and KJ (3) combined for 9 turnovers; they also combined for 7/18 FG's. If it weren't for Delly and Caleb to whine about, the whiners would have certainly targeted them.
Stupid fucking whiners!!
Arizona lost 4 starters from last year's team. Arizona switched to a new, more competitive conference with crappy travel. Arizona struggled to incorporate the new players into a 8-man rotation. The players and coaches have overcome lots of disappointment and adversity - the team lost it's expected starting center for the season.
AND, YET,ARIZONA IS IN SECOND PLACE IN THE BIG-12 TODAY.
IMNSHO, his is pretty damn good, and it has been both challenging to stay with them, and interesting to see them work things out...
BTFD!!!!, for sure!!
Yet in every game chat several "fans" criticize key players in that 8-man rotation like they were hostile, vindictive ASSU fans!!! Lst nite it was Delly & Caleb. It's also been Tobe, Henri and Trey oftentimes. Everyone of these guys are giving their all for this team, yet some want to dis them!!!
I just don't get it. I think it really sucks, and detracts from the enjoyment of this great resource.

Well we got lucky but I agree with every word you have said. These kids give their all to be part of this team. Don't make me go back and pull up childish comments that sound like a teenage girl that was disappointed in her prom date. Tobey sucks he can't play at this level. Delly is trash and the usual Caleb is a cancer. Henri is a soft Euro. Our coach can't really coach and is only winning because of Miller's players.
The most surprising thing to me is they come from long time posters who I thought were bigger than that. We were all disappointed in the start of the season but I trusted that our coach and our players would start to figure it out. Not that they would win every game but play hard and represent Ariz with pride. That is all I can really ask.
Our next loss the doubts will creep back in and the unjustified noise will be there. These are kids trying to figure it out. I do think our team is one that is on the edge every game and I just want to see if they can figure it out.
With all that being said. I have watched a lot of ASU games this year and they are not a pushover. It will take us playing well to beat them. Their freshman center I believe was rated number 1 in the country at his position. One of their guards can really shoot the ball. Saturday will be tough.

I don't know why everyone is shocked about the ISU fans. We are in the middle of snowbird season and people in the midwest love their college sports. I have an uncle in Nebraska that has a house in Lincoln just to go to games, especially football games. Small farming towns my relatives lived in would practically shut down for football games. Car traffic would be 10% of the norm.

Everyone talking about Love but the real MVP of that game for me was Awaka.
Guy is an absolute demon and unstoppable when allowed to play physical. He is 100% what we were hoping for when he transferred in, a hard nosed bruiser that will absolutely fuck you up if you piss him off.
Just perfect for the Big 12.
