Its really unfortunate that signing day is not for a couple months. By that time most of these recruits will see clearly see that not only has the team quit but Fisch is potentially the worst play caller in the country. If I am an offensive player I am not coming to Arizona unless I have no other options.

Anybody committing to Arizona should not be doing so based on this season. Its about immediate playing time and building a program from ground zero.

That’s all we got to sell at the moment unfortunately.

Who the fuck would rather play football in 30 degree temps instead of 70 degree temps, along with coeds who aren't all pasty looking with 20 pounds of clothing on?.

Did he not watch the crowd during the Utah game? And yes, it was 90 but that's the exception not the rule. The coeds in the stands were exceptional for November.

I grew up in Michigan, and that football is a brick in cold weather.

Because all you care about is not having to compete for a starting spot.

How many QBs has the UA had take a snap in the PAC era (1978), and how many have taken a snap in the NFL? If Matt Scott had been any good, even Nick Foles would never have been found.

The UA is a career killer for QBs and head coaches.

Perhaps Adrian Martinez, transferring QB from Nebraska is worth a look. Super senior with one year remaining. Might give us a year to figure out if any of our current QB's are the future.

Lasso has been an NFL guy for years. Some as QB coach. Who better to prep you for the NFL.

Rattler will draw some serious looks from players. They’ll be on TV all the time as the one of the biggest comebacks ever.

Pac-12 recruiting: Arizona’s surprising success rooted in energy, stability and the sale of “hope”
The Wildcats have one of the top classes in the conference at this point

By JON WILNER | jwilner@bayareanewsgroup.com | Bay Area News Group
PUBLISHED: December 2, 2021 at 10:57 a.m. | UPDATED: December 2, 2021 at 11:39 a.m.
Two weeks from the early-signing window, disruption lurks within the Pac-12 hierarchy.

The team at the bottom of the division standings is not in last place in the recruiting rankings.

The team that was repeatedly blown off the playing field is more than holding its own on the recruiting trail.

The one-win team has two four-star commitments.

“I think Arizona has surprised everybody,” said Brandon Huffman, a national recruiting editor for 247Sports. “They are selling hope.”

The recruits, it appears, are buying.

These will be two long weeks for first-year coach Jedd Fisch and his staff as the Dec. 15-17 signing period approaches. He must retain the committed prospects who are coveted by others, build on the progress made and sort through the dizzying options in the transfer portal — all of it against the backdrop of the worst full-season record (1-11) in program history.

They lost to NAU for the first time in nine decades and to Arizona State for the fifth consecutive season.

If not for COVID walloping Cal’s roster, the Wildcats likely would have finished 0-12 with the longest losing streak in major college football.

And yet here they are, surprisingly, remarkably, poised to disrupt the natural order.

Oregon sits atop the current Pac-12 recruiting rankings, according to the 247Sports database, followed by Stanford and UCLA.

And then, in fourth place (and No. 39 nationally), is Arizona.

Among the 15 committed recruits are four-star tight end Keyan Burnett, who originally pledged to USC, and four-star linebacker Sterling Lane. But the strength of the class relative to Pac-12 competition lies in the quantity of prospects corralled.

Maintaining the No. 4 position won’t be easy now that USC has hired Lincoln Riley, but the Wildcats are on pace for their best performance on the recruiting trail in years.

They haven’t ranked higher than ninth in the Pac-12 since 2014, when Rich Rodriguez had the program rolling and the Wildcats finished No. 6.

“It’s their best class in a long time,” said Greg Biggins, a Southern California-based recruiting analyst for the 247Sports. “The staff came in with a lot of energy, and they have strong ties to Northern and Southern California.”

The coaches have done their part, but so has the administrative side of the football operation. Ryan Partridge, the coordinator of high school recruiting, has made a substantial impact.

“He’s super connected,” Huffman said.

Another reason for Arizona’s recruiting uptick: stability.

Up the road, Arizona State is immersed in an NCAA investigation that has crippled recruiting.

USC fired its coach in September.

Washington State fired its coach in October.

Washington fired its coach in November.

UCLA’s boss, Chip Kelly, is forever on the warm seat. Cal has lost recruiting momentum. Colorado is recalibrating.

There’s opportunity galore, even for a cellar-dweller.

Energy attracts and hope sells.

“The most shocking part of the recruiting class is they have a lot of older guys on the staff who I didn’t think would be able to recharge recruiting,” Huffman said.

“But they are in on (recruits) they don’t have any business being in on.”

Rattler has already eliminated ASU. Some think because he doesn't want the distractions of playing in his hometown.
Surprisingly, we might have a shot.
I was an OU fan before I was a UA fan, but after watching QB 1, I don't know about this kid. Maybe, he needs to get out of the elite pressure cooker before he goes all Marinovich, but if Fisch thinks he can get him, he has to. It's a no-brainer, even if it means alienating the QB's, currently on the roster. That kind of pickup turns heads. 4 star heads.

It’s his dream school but I am sure we and USC are at his front door and his two best buds are hitting him up as well.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he flipped or if he waited until February to sign and see who is leading Oregon

He was a starter all last year as a freshman and was surpassed half way through this year by the number 7 recruit in the country, as long as you are confident Rattler will not cause a major locker room revolt you do everything in your power to get him. He was not horrible this year, he completed over 70% of his passes in every start. With our awful QB play this year, he gets rid of excuses for the coaching staff there which may be the least appealing thing about him to Fisch.

The OT decommitted before thanksgiving, but I am really hoping the coaches take this opportunity to capitalize on west coast recruiting. Unfortunately the three Oregon decommits are all from the Gulf and doubtful to have any interest in us. Hoping this is a chance to steal T-Mac back since he is a true play maker.

McMillan is thus far holding to his commitment:

https://www.yahoo.com/now/report-4-star ... 57618.html

Fortunately for the Ducks, it appears now that 4-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is still solid on his commitment to the Ducks. According to 247 Sports’ Greg Biggins, the Servite senior who is the No. 4 WR in the nation is not changing his mind after the departure of Cristobal.

“It’s been wild,” McMillan said. “My phone is blowing up right now. I’ve heard a lot from USC as well as Arizona and Clemson. Right now, my plan is to stay committed and I still want to go to Oregon.

“That’s my first choice and I love it there. I’m not sure about taking any other visits, I haven’t really thought about it yet. Hopefully Oregon hires a new head coach soon though so I have time to meet with him since I’m signing early and an early graduate too.”

QB1 on netflix.
If Fisch could land him, he has to, any attitude problems included. I still think it's a "no way" but if it happened, a lot more recruits and transfers might look our way that wouldn't before.

It could be that big of a deal.

Seriously though, you would think someone going to advise him that even if promised the starting job, coming to a team that is this down and with this bad of an offensive line might not be in his best interest.

I don't really keep up with prep football here in the Valley but someone I know that does said he was kicked off his high school team for some rule infraction. The rumor is that he already has his scholarship to Oklahoma and didn't feel like playing the rest of the year and wanted to quit but didn't want the reputation of being a quitter. So he broke rules knowing he would be booted. If that is true, and I don't know if it is, do you really want that on a team you're trying to rebuild. You start to count on this guy and he suddenly feels like taking a powder on you. I'm sorry but I'll keep Will Plummer over that any day.

Didn't the UA end up with the worst red zone offense in recorded history? Primarily on Fisch, but QBs need to make plays.

Plummer had a good arm and wheels, but his decision making is really suspect.

McCloud moves the team better than Plummer or Cruz, but has the weakest arm.

I'd give Rattler a shot. If he has attitude issues, bench him. He couldn't be any worse on the bench than Anu Solomon. Solomon wouldn't even sit with the team, he sat against the wall.

Where do you see we added Reece?

OL, QB and Safety are the biggest needs along with a playmaking WR. I love Fifita and all has done to help with recruiting but he is not the type of talent you can put all your eggs in the basket of (especially behind our Oline) we need to at least bring in someone else to compete there.

Edit: Just saw it on Moreno's twitter.
