A) Congrats to BYU. They really wanted it.
B) That was a real shit call at the end especially with all the crap they let go the whole game.
C) Trey Townsend … what the fuck man
Game was literally stolen from us. BYU deserves nothing.
THIS
I mean, BYU did score about 94 other points that Tony Padilla had nothing to do with…
Not taking away anything from the Cats because they fought just as hard and I loved that we were in position to win and should have won, but BYU played really tough on the road and it’s ok to acknowledge that. If we find out they paid Padilla to make that chickenshit call, I’ll take back my praise.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
If you want to make sure the BigXII gets another team into the dance, you send out Tony Padilla to make that call. I flat out guarantee you that when you have talking heads saying 14 SEC teams will get in, that the conference leaders won’t be made at Padilla.
Would have helped if we played defense with our normal effort. We gave up 55% on the night and 14 three’s and almost won. Collectively that was our worst defensive effort all year I think

This reminds me of the rage I felt when Woods was called for the goaltending call at the end of the UCONN game at McKale back in ‘01

According to Torvik, TCU was our worst defensive effort, but this is second worst.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Yeah, OK, when your opponent scores 90 points on you your defense ain't exactly wonderful
AND
our opponent had 90 scored against it too. It was a hard fought even game on both sides, a joy to watch, actually.
AND
THE CATS WON THAT GAME FAIR AND SQUARE.

I think Tommy's press conference was telling. He did not dwell on the bad call but focused on defense and focus. What really impressed me is we were down by five with 42 seconds left under their basket and 30 seconds later we were up by 1. That was some effort and unfortunately left them with too much time left. Still a bad call but a good close by the cats at the end.
Caleb gets a lot of shit on this board but he had a great offensive game. No one had a great defensive game. I thought Tommy used his timeouts perfectly and I think Delly is really learning what he can bring to the team. He did still dribble to much and had a bad turnover in a close game. Bradley did not have a game where he exerted his will. Made a couple of shots but missed a few that he should have had. The big guys did well and both are progressing. Tobe flew across the lane to secure that final rebound as the foul was called so no other opportunities for BYU were going to be there. Also I just want to say how fn impressed I am with Tobe's free throw shooting after a rocky start. Next game Wednesday. Let's go Cats.

We also made it very easy for them to score with the unforced turnovers. A lot of those turnovers were ridiculous. They must have ended up with 30ish points off of turnovers.
