UCLA just pounding Stanford, not unlike us but they may score 110 if they want

Stanford has been chipping away by doing work on the boards. Also, UCLA free throw shooting has let them down.azcat49 wrote:UCLA just pounding Stanford, not unlike us but they may score 110 if they want
You did watch the second half, right?MrBug708 wrote:This game wasn't that close, not like how Cal chipped away at it
I saw a lot of unforced turnovers and a conscientious effort to get Iham out of his funk. Combined that and the disparity in shooting percentages and FT shooting, the game wasn't in doubt really. Cal got the game within 6 before we got a bailout foul called when Aaron Holiday did some great acting.Chicat wrote:You did watch the second half, right?MrBug708 wrote:This game wasn't that close, not like how Cal chipped away at it
The same place all of our football fans were this year?Beachcat97 wrote:Where were all those fans when they were in 10th place last year?
Apples and oranges, Chi. Come on. AZ football has never won a damn thing. It's remarkable that that stadium is ever half full, and it really speaks more to the popularity of football than to some kind of football "tradition" at UofA. Can you imagine how packed our football stadium would be if we had even a small portion of the titles that UCLA hoops has?Chicat wrote:The same place all of our football fans were this year?Beachcat97 wrote:Where were all those fans when they were in 10th place last year?
eh percentage wise our stadium is still more full. and it's still a good 4-5 times as many people as show up to ucla basketball games...in a metro area not even 1/10th the size...and for a program that's nowhere near as big as ucla's basketball programChicat wrote:The same place all of our football fans were this year?Beachcat97 wrote:Where were all those fans when they were in 10th place last year?
UCLA is really good on offense. They have the ability to match runs.azcat49 wrote:Yep, Furd actually looks decent tonight. Maybe UCLA knew the game was over 10 minutes in and have been toying with them, just trading baskets.
One thing that scares me about AZ against teams like UCLA, is that UCLA never seems to give up extended runs. They might give up 8 straight but then they hit two 3's. We have given up too many 17-3 runs that worries me
Saved for reference.Beachcat97 wrote:We're not beating UCLA. Not this year. Maybe if Leaf had stuck with his original choice and Trier were eligible.
Again, we're not beating UCLA this year. Not in Westwood, not in Tucson.CalStateTempe wrote:Saved for reference.Beachcat97 wrote:We're not beating UCLA. Not this year. Maybe if Leaf had stuck with his original choice and Trier were eligible.
Is this what you believe or are you setting up the beachcat jinx post?
I think we can compete, and win in Westwood, without AT. And will.
I guess we have differing definitions of "scare."Chicat wrote:Feel like Rado is going to give the bRuins a scare tonight.
Considering you are "scared" of your own shadow, I would assume you do.Beachcat97 wrote:I guess we have differing definitions of "scare."Chicat wrote:Feel like Rado is going to give the bRuins a scare tonight.
I'm sorry I had less than positive thoughts about your favorite team.Beachcat97 wrote:I guess we have differing definitions of "scare."Chicat wrote:Feel like Rado is going to give the bRuins a scare tonight.
It was a 2 point game late in the first half. Coming out of the first TV timeout of the 2nd half it was still single digits.Beachcat97 wrote:Game was never in question.

That game was as close as the AZ/ASU game.Chicat wrote:It was a 2 point game late in the first half. Coming out of the first TV timeout of the 2nd half it was still single digits.Beachcat97 wrote:Game was never in question.
Your definition of "never" is interesting...
The UA/ASU game was within 2 points at the 4 minute mark of the first half?? I must have been watching another game...Beachcat97 wrote:That game was as close as the AZ/ASU game.Chicat wrote:It was a 2 point game late in the first half. So that wasn't the Arizona game? Sure looked like Sean Miller and company kicking ass.Beachcat97 wrote:Bingo.Chicat wrote: I must have been watching another game...
I'm sure BeachBruin will be ecstatic when UCLA brings home the title.Bruins01 wrote:There, everyone happy now?
Not a difficult comment to process. My kids lie to me from time to time so I'm used to it.Beachcat97 wrote:I hope UCLA loses every remaining game on their schedule.
That'll probably be a difficult comment for Chi's brain to process. But hey, there it is.

You're too cynical, man. When they tell you they love you, they're being sincere.Chicat wrote:Beachcat97 wrote: My kids lie to me from time to time so I'm used to it.
Beachy, you didn't see that fly over your head?Beachcat97 wrote:You're too cynical, man. When they tell you they love you, they're being sincere.Chicat wrote:Beachcat97 wrote: My kids lie to me from time to time so I'm used to it.
You should stick to what you know BeachBruin. Namely tongue-punching Alford's butthole.Beachcat97 wrote:You're too cynical, man. When they tell you they love you, they're being sincere.Chicat wrote:Beachcat97 wrote: My kids lie to me from time to time so I'm used to it.
I suspect BeachBruin prefers basketball because of his affinity for the RIM....Chicat wrote:You should stick to what you know BeachBruin. Wow. You're on quite a streak. It's like, the more you drag this out, the more witless you become, or just reveal yourself to be.Chicat wrote:You should stick to what you know BeachBruin. Let's reset: I hate UCLA.
Like in a "I hate how much I love UCLA" kinda way...Harvey Specter wrote:But in a love-hate kinda way...Beachcat97 wrote:Let's reset: I hate UCLA.
We won't get blown out. But we will lose. Again, just need a split in L.A. We'll have a chance for payback when UCLA visits McKale Center, which is in Tucson, Arizona (according to Chi).Alieberman wrote:I am confused why anyone would think we are going to get blown out
How dare you say that BeachBruin's favorite team isn't invincible!CalStateTempe wrote:I've watched both teams extensively this season.
UCLA is good, but certainly not "Arizona has no place on the court with them" good.
And I'm not being blindly optimistic, Even without Trier, I think Arizona can walk into westwood and come away with a win. The way PJC, KA, KS, RA, LM, and CC have been playing lately, I feel even more confident in that assessment.
Arizona is gelling into something beautiful this season. Its incredible to watch. At the sizzle and spice of AT, and we'll have one hell of a Gumbo as they say in Louisiana. But even without him, I wouldn't be surprised of UofA comes away with a win.
Thats why they play the games.
It definitely doesn't worry me more, but you're right: easy to overlook the Thursday game. I think we'll beat USC by 5 to 10 points. They've been overrated lately having racked up lots of wins, but against fairly weak competition. OR killed them.EastCoastCat wrote:
