I would not have said that would be possible a week ago.

Go Cats!
A run in Vegas is entirely possible.........the P12 stinks.

I would like to see us get a 7 seed with Stanford and 2 out of OSU/asu/Utah on our side of the bracket.

Teams I don't want on our side of the bracket: USC/UCLA/Oregon
Completely agree with this.

I think POM is looking for the dunk from earlier in game.
I think it was left handed.

That's not a dunk. That's the put-back winning shot at the end of the game. I'm looking for the putback dunk he had earlier in the game.

I like our chances to make some noise in the P12 tournament.

If the season ended today we would have to go through WSU/OSU/asu to get to the championship game.

I think we match up well against all 3 with the exception of Trent Franks of wsu

for a crowd I figured would know...

When was the last time we had a buzzer beater shot? And I stick to buzzer beater...Salim's UCLA and OK St shot were not, as the other team had a possession with some time remaining. His ASU shot was. Mark Lyons was not a true buzzer beater vs Florida. Neither was DWill's shot to beat Texas.

And not looking for ones against us...lord knows that seems to happen every year.

When was our last buzzer beater for a win?

If we beat Oregon this weekend, this team is gonna start to believe, if they don't already.

The Pac tourney is very winnable.

Kadeem was close against Michigan St. two years ago. Only 1.3 seconds left.

Was that the game against Colorado, here in Tucson? The shot where, even days later, there were arguments about whether or not the shot got off on time?

No, that was where Colorado hit a buzzer beater against us, but the refs said it was still on his finger tip when the clock hit 0. The game he's referring to is the one I linked, which was the Lipscomb game.

Not sure
Someone posted a link to the lipscomb shoe earlier, but it seemed like the ball blocked the clock in one camera angel so it was really hard to tell

Edit Thanks for clarification

The most dramatic buzzer beater was Miles Simon making the 3/4 court shot, while running, against Cincinnati.

My job requires too much math to see that myself (and the math of my job is a meatball in comparison with the sausage party that’s your job), but that surprises me. Especially given that we’re going to win the next two games.

Scenario A (No. 4 seed)
Arizona beats Oregon and ASU. ASU wins at Oregon State before losing in Tucson. OSU loses at Washington but wins at Wazzu. Utah wins at Colorado and either sweeps the Los Angeles schools at home or splits, as long as it beats UCLA. UCLA gets swept on the road by the Rocky Mountain schools. Stanford loses at home to Washington. USC either splits in the mountains or is swept. Colorado wins no more than two of its final three games, but one of those wins is over UCLA. Arizona and OSU tie for fourth place, with Arizona’s sweep of the Beavers serving as the tiebreaker.

Scenario B (No. 3 seed)
Arizona beats Oregon and ASU. ASU wins at Oregon State before falling to the Wildcats. OSU’s only remaining win comes at Wazzu. Utah loses at Colorado and splits with the LA schools, beating UCLA. UCLA loses both games in the Mountains. Stanford loses to Washington. USC loses at Utah but beats Colorado. Colorado beats Utah and UCLA but loses to the Trojans. Arizona ends up in a three-way tie with OSU and Utah, and its combined 3-1 record against the Beavers and Utes becomes the deciding factor.

Scenario C (No. 2 seed)
Arizona wins out, its victory over ASU coming after the Sun Devils lose at Oregon State. The Beavers get swept at the Washington schools. Utah loses to Colorado and USC but beats UCLA. UCLA gets swept in the mountains. Stanford loses to Washington. USC beats Utah but loses at Colorado. Colorado wins out at home against Utah and the LA schools. That creates a massive five-way tie for second between Arizona, ASU, Colorado, OSU and Utah in which Devonaire Doutrive’s tip shot in Corvallis (thus completing a sweep of the Beavers) gives the Wildcats a 5-3 mark against the other four schools while no one else is better than .500 among the rest.

Get all that? There will be a test on Sunday if Arizona manages to knock off Oregon. If it loses to the Ducks, let’s pretend all of this research never happened.
Like I said. Long shot.

Against usc in 2010 as it was my bachelor party weekend in Tucson

20 of us at mckale to see that mid day game. So epic

Afterwards went to frogs and hung out all afternoon. Spent like $300 in total too for about 3-4 hours of drinking and eating

Fogg walked by and everyone cheered for him and I ran out and took a picture with him I can’t find which bums me out. One of the nicest guys ever

Randolph hitting all those crazy shots the other night was probably the worst thing that could have happened to his game.

Now he thinks he should be shooting those types of shots on every possession.

This team is a reminder that you can’t really do much without reliable shooters.

In the few games where we’ve looked halfway decent this year (first half of Gonzaga, Iowa State, the three prior to tonight), we’ve shot the ball very well. It’s easy to pick on Randolph. He’s probably our most disappointing player this year. But he’s certainly not alone.

Altman’s teams tend to be very good offensively. Lots of scorers. This year is no different. Our only chance against a team like the Ducks or USC or UW is to shoot well above our season averages.

So true, Merk.

My weird, abiding hope that this team could still heat up at just the right time and get into the dance...this hope endures until the final horn sounds on the season.

But we know what we have with this team.
