Man, when you listen to Adia talk about her team and how much she cares about her players and the program who wouldn’t want to play for her?
She’s just so genuine and passionate. Shit, I want to go through a brick wall for her.
I am pumped to see what the future holds for this program because this could be the start of something special.

Except maybe she didn't specifically refer to ESPN, but I can forgive that.

Wow, no wonder she keeps saying "It takes a village". I can't imagine how rough it must've been losing the nanny, and her kids counting against the person limit? Come the fuck on NCAA. Also:
And there were reportedly no childcare stipends, no special accommodations in San Antonio.
That needs to change. Don't penalize women coaches for having babies.
Glad Adia is showing America just how amazing moms are.

I'm not a basketball guy, but I have question for those that are: could it be that Arizona brought a paradigm shift to womens college basketball? I mean we held Stanford to their lowest point total all season and damn near won the Natty with incredible defense. Might coaches take a lesson here and place more of a premium on players with no quit in their motor and who can play a very quick transition game? Is this a silly question?

Paradigm shift might be too much to ask for, but if Adia leads us back to the tourney next year featuring this kind of swarming suffocating defense leading to transition points I think you'll see more teams who can't recruit the tallest players featuring a defense that speeds up other teams and causes turnovers. But as Stanford showed, height is still a really big deal in women's college basketball.

Adia's husband Salvo coaches the defense. His dad was an Italian coach and he learned from him. Whatever he is teaching the players, it is working. Defense always keeps you in the game.

If Pellington ever gets an outside shot she could be better than Aari. She was a monster yesterday and they sagged off her 5 feet and she still blew by her defender.
Yeaney can’t shoot at all but is another GREAT on ball defender. Cate is a minus defender and I think we saw that on the last two games against skilled and taller girls. I just love Trinity Baptiste and hope she stays for another year. Love Sam but was disappointed in her offensive effort yesterday. To me it appeared that stage was just a bit to big for her

I'd say it's more like high motor athletic defenders are a premium on all levels. It's more that they're harder to come by than a philosophy thing.
Like Yeaney was a transfer from a EE program in Indiana. Her blend of athletic ability and motor is in demand.

She doesnn't have Aari's footwork either, and I'm not sure that's something that is easy to develop. She is definitely talented, though, and I think you're right about having superstar potential if she can develop a shot.

During an appearance on “The Johnjay and Rich” podcast Wednesday, UA coach Adia Barnes was asked if she would consider coaching the men’s team.
her response?
“Zero interest. Guys don’t listen to crap, no,” she said. “You tell a guy to go right, he’s going left, like, three times. No, they don’t listen.”
lmfao I love Adia.

Same with Stevens from what I read, probably here. Huge fans of Miller and Barnes.
So I imagine their donations to the program are now going to the women's program.
