Seth Davis is “officially predicting” we don’t make it to the game in Tempe without a loss.
I mean we all would have been happy if Arizona went 2-2 @ill, @tenn, @ucla, @usc a week ago
What universe are you living in?
No kidding. We need to go at least 4-0 for me to be satisfied
Yeah the board is so happy with everything, like always. Smh

In the universe where 4 road games are tough
That is a true statement.
To say people would be happy after losing to ucla again is a joke. People start threads about slow starts and free throws that are missed.

6 out of 4? Must be more New Math. Didn't realize you were a Boomer too, Pops. I've got an 8-Track in the attic you might like o listen to.

I think it will be so huge to get at least a split in LA.
I will be more than happy with 2-1 against Tenn, UCLA and SC.
1-2 and I will be disappointed but not totally upset.
0-3 and we will have further Tommy Boy discussions on this board.
And yet, even if we somehow go 0-3, we're still in a great position to earn a high seed and do big things in March. These are big games coming up, but keep in mind we also get the L.A. schools at McKale, plus the Pac tourney. There will be further opportunities for quality wins.
Sounds like you think 0-3 unlikely. Me too. All you can do is predict based on the sample so far.
I expect 4 losses total before the conference tourney. I think every one of our losses will be games we can't put two solid halves together. I don't think we'll lose a single game through the Sweet 16 where we put together two solid halves. I don't have any way to relate my expectations to any unexpected injuries to key players for us or opponents.
We will probably take an L or two we don't expect. Then, SC and UCLA will be stiff tests. Tenn should be our only remaining OOC test.
Ultimately, if we're still playing strong ball, that matters more. You hit on injuries because this team doesn't have a next man up ability. Mathurin, Kerr, Tubelis and Koloko are basically irreplaceable. Terry is good, but maybe Pelle could step in.
Pelle could replace the scoring but the assists and LACK of TO's is what he would struggle with.

i expect Arizona to win the next three games (Nor Colorado, Cal Baptist, Tenn) easily setting up what should be a top 5 matchup with UCLA on the 30th - provided the Bruins can get past UNC on Saturday

Davis, Bilas or Vitale are not welcome here. We do have the longest memories and you F with us we will hold you to account. On that note I sent Dickie V an email wishing him well (which I meant) but reminded him that he needs to make public amends to Sean or he will burn in HELL. They ruined a man's reputation for FN ratings and clicks. For that you will burn in hell just ask any FOX news person.

It is not a close game so not a good representation of what to expect. I would like to see their speed and physicality. The Cats can play both ways.

Just me but I think Illinois is better than Tennessee. Other than the fact it’s right before the team breaks for a few days and we historically don’t play well while on the road, I think we win

Tennessee notable results:
#9 Villanova 71
Tennessee 53
Tennessee 89
North Carolina 72
Tennessee 69
Colorado 54
#25 Texas Tech 57
Tennessee 52
I saw this one, one of the worst games I've seen. Game was like 38-39 with 3 mins left in the 2nd half.
They play a horrible Memphis team Saturday. I'll say the same thing I said before Illinois game, even if Arizona loses on the road, I firmly believe Arizona is the better team.

I’d be very surprised if another opponent hits 16 3s against us this year. That was just some stupid, lights out shooting by Illinois, and it still amazes me we found a way to win.

As I was watching Alabama play Memphis I realized the Cats play at a different level. The announcers were talking about the speed of Alabama like it was at the same level of Villanova and Baylor. I know Nova has always played at a fast pace, but after watching Baylor play I don't they are as fast as UA. The difference I find is UA plays more like a pro basketball team than a college team, at least the starting 5. We play at another level.

That horrible Memphis team is up 11 on Alabama with 14 mins left. Memphis has Bates the number 1 recruit last year and that guy is all about me. Memphis plays much better when he is sitting. He is a young kid but is not playing for the name on the front of the jersey.

Listened to that and Tommy's and Adia's pressers:
"I'm simple. It's just now and next." (Inside the CTL brain)
"First one to lose buys dinner." (Adia's text to Tommy)
"Gotta be nasty" (Koloko)
Saturday, December 18 vs. Cal Baptist at 4:00 p.m. MST
Offer available while supplies last
48 hour flash sale offer is available Tuesday, December 14 at 9:00 a.m. through Thursday, December 16 at 9:00 a.m.
Stubhub will probably have tickets for cheaper. A lot of lower seating is available because many of the season ticket holders won't attend the game due to COVID.

Crap.
Somebody tell me I'm in the wrong dream.
Or at least the wrong thread.
I don't know what your algorithm is, but Oregon's gotten its teeth kicked in by every half decent team they've faced this year. It would be a MASSIVE upset for them to take Baylor down.
The entire state of Oregon had the wheels come off early this year.

Omicron is gonna fuck this season
Yeah, it's a really awesome season for U of A and pro sports, but the virus is spreading and taking out entire rosters, and omicron isn't even here yet. I wonder if at some point we need to say that covid-19 isn't a serious risk to fully vaccinated athletes, and therefore our crowded hospitals, and it's time to start treating it like other illnesses with "flu-like symptoms" without all the protocols.
Otherwise, how do you even contend with situations like the entire roster of the Sacramento Kings falling to covid the day after they played the Wizards, who in turn play the Suns tonight? It's like dumping fuel everywhere and lighting a match, while at the same time insisting that fire is calls for us to stop everything.

Our own MyTwoCents said something the other day that I agree with.
We should stop testing vaccinated, asymptomatic athletes and only test those that are unvaccinated or symptomatic. At some point we need to just accept that Covid is here to stay.

At some point that is going to happen. Covid won't just be gone 1 day. At some point the world will shift into treating this like the flu.

It has to eventually because it is the flu. Just a nastier one that comes with more serious consequences. But I think everyone can agree we've come a long way.
We just have to figure out a logical and sensible way to get to where we can say Covid is manageable. We should be able to do that as collective body of rationale human beings...
...well most of us.

The issue is that as is our hospitals are going to be permanently overwhelmed and on the verge of collapse. And that can't go on indefinitely. We can't just say it's the flu and move on since our healthcare systems just can't handle this number of cases permanently.
