Given RR's recruiting results we can be absolutely certain that he doesn't cheat at recruiting!!

Are they fighting because they should? Orlando Bradford and his temper comes to mind

I know RR has said if you hit a women you are done so one can only hope the information backs what is being attempted

I am not sure why you keep saying this. If my (and others') understanding of the retention bonus is accurate, cutting RR loose at the end of this season is essentially a revenue neutral transaction. We keep the remaining 50% of his O&G LLP sales, and payoff his buyout. I believe those sums come close to balancing each other out.ASUHATER! wrote:This whole thing has saved RRs job. Since the entire basketball program is a question mark we don't have the leeway financially to go looking for a new football coach and to pay buyouts. RR is here for a while now.
That $6M buyout end of season looks better and better all the time to RichRod.Alieberman wrote:Has he really not benched Dawkins yet?

Unbelievable.

I don't doubt RR might have had a positive influence on WP's development (and I am sure he is being gracious)... but one guy in 6 years?ramcat wrote:Certain it will come down to W and L's for RR this year, but this is W Parks on how instrumental RR was in his development.

Again, I think maybe RR'S focus may have waned over time. Remember hearing Carey being complimentary of RR'S impact on his success as well as Bondurant, Jake Fischer, Tevis and BJ.Harvey Specter wrote:I don't doubt RR might have had a positive influence on WP's development (and I am sure he is being gracious)... but one guy in 6 years?ramcat wrote:Certain it will come down to W and L's for RR this year, but this is W Parks on how instrumental RR was in his development.

Best thing he has done is give Yates some autonomy on defense, finally, which means less is more.

I see someone trying and someone who is legit upset after losses and bad plays. Not signs of someone checked out to me.
I dont think so, but it is becoming easier to defend and UA does not have the athletes or other skills (QB) at this time to make it work as it needs to be very successful.NYCat wrote:Is the zone read offense dead? Is a q not enough people ask.

I don't remember ever hearing anything from those guys, but I do not doubt they may have said some nice things. I don’t believe RRod has checked out, at least not yet. He’s definitely showing frustration on the sidelines, but it’s obvious he wants to win badly, and the guys are still competing. If we only had a serviceable QB on the roster things would be way different.

Yeah, it’s called watching the actual games without having a predetermined notion that we suck and it’s all Rich Rods fault. Both losses could have been wins, in fact should have been wins. Defense is competing play after play. If anything, the offense is playing so tight Rich Rod is probably over coaching (which is not exactly checking out in case you need that spelt out for you genius). If Rich Rod is to Blame for anything it’s QB recruiting. Too many big misses and the leftovers have been projects.ASUHATER! wrote:What evidence do you have of this?KingG wrote:You made a statement, were asked to back it up, and this is all you got? It's dead. It doesn't take defenses by surprise anymore and it doesn't wear them out. Those were the two macro advantages.PHXCATS wrote:I dont think so, but it is becoming easier to defend and UA does not have the athletes or other skills (QB) at this time to make it work as it needs to be very successful.NYCat wrote:Is the zone read offense dead? More so than Wins and Losses it'll come down predominantly due to lack of attendance. I don't expect Basketball attendance to suffer this season, but you don't know exactly how the fanbase is going to react to all of this and while it may not impact this season it certainly could impact the next (if a NCAA tourney ban is coming for that year), so Arizona really can't afford to have football be a complete dud in the revenue department and quite frankly if we have a bad year this year and attendance continues to drop you certainly can't retain RR for another year. Heeke and Robbins have a business to run here. Hire a new coach with a new shiny object to sell in the indoor facility and hit the ground running.ramcat wrote:Certain it will come down to W and L's for RR this year, but this is W Parks on how instrumental RR was in his development.

Agree. Dead as a base offensive scheme. Only useful now as the occasional offensive play, you even see it a time or two in the NFL.Chicat wrote:It's dead.
