I'd just like to remind everyone as we go to the second half:

I wouldn't say Kansas choked. They didn't lose the game. Villanova won the game with hustle.Spaceman Spiff wrote:It's our annual KU tourney chokefest. Nova did what many thought was impossible, ending Perry Ellis's college career.
They were a heavy favorite to win the whole thing. How about that they underperformed like every year?Catintheheat wrote:I wouldn't say Kansas choked. They didn't lose the game. Yup, got everything I wanted out of tonight.UAEebs86 wrote:Oregon and Kansas lose. What a beautiful night.
UNC isn't the pure white dove everyone makes them out to be. In fact, I'd go as far as saying they employ more skullduggery as a program (not within games, thats Duke's forte) than the school north of it, 20 minutes away.rgdeuce wrote:What u talking about, everything out of this tournament outside of our fail has been great. Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, etc., all out. Would be perfect if Cuse loses. Dont have any issues w UNC bein the only blue blood standing

What do you want me to say? That you lost in the first round and we lost in the Elite 8?dirtbags wrote:BumpUAEebs86 wrote:Guess it's enfuego's busy time at work again. Those pizzas aren't going to deliver themselves.
Is that all you have? Really? The overall number 1 seed again and what did you boy Self do? I believe there is a thread already about your coach...enfuego wrote:What do you want me to say? You were the #1 overall seed and favorites to win it all. Pretty big flameout to not make the final 4. Going to hurt without Ellis, Diallo, Selden, Ferguson or Jackson next year.enfuego wrote:What do you want me to say? We were in the title game in 2012 and won a title in 2008. When was your last title?azcat49 wrote:enfuego wrote:What do you want me to say? No you can say we have been to the elite 8 two of the last three years and you have not.
We have not had good luck in the E8 lately. Only a matter of time.Merkin wrote:Arizona mentioned often of course.
Technical loss as Calipari should have fouled and given you the 2 FT's. Never should have went to OT. Translation: We lost again to a lower seed for the fourth season in a row. Nothing to see here.enfuego wrote:What do you want me to say? Just because you've had more recent success doesn't mean Bill Self doesn't gag under the bright lights like a wannabe porn starlet.enfuego wrote:We were in the title game in 2012 and won a title in 2008. When was your last title?
Hell yeah Main Event, I'm right there with you on this one.Main Event wrote:No young coach eats til Sean eats
The chickenhawks last two titles have the word "miracle" attached to them. The 2012 title game appearance, we'll Marshall fractured his wrist. Self has needed luck to get his team to the final weekend. 2008 EE game. Need I mention all the choke jobs Kansas has endured since Bill Toupee took over.Chicat wrote:Just because you've had more recent success doesn't mean Bill Self doesn't gag under the bright lights like a wannabe porn starlet.enfuego wrote:We were in the title game in 2012 and won a title in 2008. Can say the same thing about N.D. 11, 14, 7 and if the somehow beat N.C, would play a 10 to get to the title game.WildcatStunner wrote:Can't believe the break Cuse caught after their Dayton game. Getting Middle Tennessee and then Gonzaga. I guess props to them for beating a disciplined UVA squad.
I have the same logic as you when rooting for non-Arizona teams. Syracuse, Villanova, Mich State are at about our level in the 2nd tier. Having either of them win again would surpass us. UNC already probably being the greatest team of the modern era doesn't affect us.rgdeuce wrote:I think we are 2-0 against UNC all time in the tournament, at least since the Lute era. 3-3 in the all time series. There have been a few guys ive disliked a lot, Hansbrough being the one that jumped into my head immediately, but for the most part I cant think of any reason to hate them. They got their crap now, which im sure will not produce any serious sanctions, but they definately dont reach the level of dickhead as several other blue bloods or 2nd tier programs. Plus they are Dukes big rival, so I've rooted for them plenty. They are like the Red Sox to me. Roy Williams hasnt really rubbed me wrong (pause), if he has, it wasnt big enough for me to remember right now.
Plus we've nabbed quite a few of their big targets over the past several years.
Good Point, but I fear if UNC wins, Roy can "leave on top" which means we are likely looking for a new coach. If UNC loses, I think Roy stays on for another cycle (3-4 years) which gives Miller (and the AD) more time for the "roots to deepen" so to speak.1stNGrant Frys wrote:I have the same logic as you when rooting for non-Arizona teams. I just recall Lute's teams getting slaughtered in the most recent UNC non-conference games, home or away.

Here's a link for possessions per game leaders that allows you to go year to year. I don't think it demonstrates any real correlation between pace and tourney success.NYCat wrote:I am still skeptical of the pace that team plays at. I really think that slow pace is a huge detriment in the tournament. It keeps games too close and attempting to catch up at that pace is nearly impossible. They're methodical, typically have good ball movement and play for an open shot. They couldn't rally back, and couldn't play with any sense of urgency whatsoever. They're the shot clock version of four corners.
BTW so many can't handle the press, it's ridiculous (AZ could either).
