Arizona should shut down the football program and rejoin the Pac-12 conference, like Gonzaga!!
Do us all a favor!!!
Ha! This would help me significantly by giving too big of a part of my life back!

I know this sounds weird, but I think GCU will quickly become the valley's bigger college basketball brand over ASU.

ngl, i'm kinda digging the way two former pac-12 teams won their respective conferences in their first year after outsiders had labeled the pac-12 as "soft" for so long. if only cal or furd had won the ACC. at the same time, i don't feel bad for sc or ucla, who started this shitshow, for finishing under .500 in the big ten.

Ah yes, let’s honor that great member of the Big Ten…

I'm all for recognizing Jack Robinson's many contributions to sports and society. But he played in the Pacific Coast Conference in 1939; never in the Big Ten. This seems like a fairly brazen, undeserved, and self-serving theft of reflected glory. It's similar to schools that name colleges after famous and respected people who have no connection, or particular desire for any, with the school. In the shifting sands of realignment, the Big XII could try to claim Arizona's Fred Batiste or Hadie Redd for their own, but it would be transparently false.

Maybe the ACC will call itself The Conference of Champions since Stanford is now a member.

Yeah Jackie Robinson should just be a UCLA and MLB thing now. Conferences shouldn't be able to claim anyone like this now that realignment is a constant factor.

Wouldn't be too happy about this if you were a lower tier team have a $22M payout difference per season between the first and last teams. I wonder if those teams would get a free out of the ACC.

ACC, FSU, Clemson reach proposed settlement to end legal fight, change money distribution: AP source
The legal fights between the Atlantic Coast Conference and high-profile member schools Clemson and Florida State appear close to resolution, which could provide the league with a measure of stability for the coming years.
The league and the two schools have reached a proposed settlement that would include changing the league’s revenue-distribution model, a person familiar with the situation said Monday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither the league nor the schools have publicly addressed the deal, which requires all three to approve. ESPN first reported the details.
Trustees at Clemson and Florida State have each scheduled meetings for Tuesday. The FSU meeting specifically lists lawsuits involving the ACC on the agenda, while the Clemson meeting agenda refers to settling “athletic litigations.”
The ACC’s Board of Directors – made up of university presidents and chancellors – will also hold a call to sign off on the settlement Tuesday during a previously scheduled meeting, the person who spoke to AP said.
If approved, the settlement would incorporate viewership ratings into revenue distribution among member schools, which would increase payouts to schools generating the most TV interest. The upside could be $15 million or more for top-earning schools, while it could also result in a decline of about $7 million for others, the person told the AP.

fsu and clemson are trying to do to the acc what texas formerly did to the big12, the way it threw its weight around. i wonder what cal and stanford are thinking. remember, they joined the acc in a "step up" tier 1 revenue deal where they only get a 30% cut of media revenues for their first 7 years, 70% in year 8, and 75% in year 9 before receiving their fair 100% distribution starting in 2034. imagine having your share even further diluted - i'm assuming the current proposal won't supersede the existing revenue model
