And U of A crushes ASU 17-6, ASU goes through 7 pitchers each more terrified than the last. Still the fielding is looking a little shaky

The bad news: 'Cats got no hit by UCLA tonight.

The good news: The game is still going because Hamlin pitched a gem too.

0-0 bottom of the 10th. Still no hits for UA. Game on PAC-12 Arizona.

EDIT: UCLA wins 1-0 in a 10 inning no hitter.

A great pitching duel last night but the Bruins win in ten. The play of the game was this great catch off the head of Newman.

Still can't believe he makes $50K less than Niya Butts. Lopez has a natty, and Butts can't even get in the NCAA tourney.

To be fair since that natty we've been very mediocre and missed the tournament 3 straight years

The Cats definitely should of made the tournament in 2013, they were robbed. They had the same record that asu has this year. As for his replacement, I have read that Checketts from UCSB and Rodriguez from Pepperdine could be looked at.

How about Pat Murphy? If we want to win immediately then he would sure do the trick. It'd also stick it right to ASU, which only makes it better.

Even with the mediocre couple years Arizona has to be seen as a top 15 job in baseball and a top 10-12 power conference job

Some men are happy just making the money that they are and being comfortable. Lord knows Lute Olson was grossly underpaid based on the market, but then again old school coaches are just that way (see how much Roy Williams makes). Obviously Byrne will have to pay the next coach more.

Good point about Lute. It seems that when Mike Stoops was hired with no head coaching experience he made more than Lute did.

Wasn't he cleared of all wrong doing and the only reason he was let go was because he didn't really cooperate with investigators?

Only UCLA and Cal are still alive. They both play today. It's possible that the Pac-12 won't have any teams in the super regionals.

This conference continues to fall from grace in sports it used to dominate, yet for some reason Larry Scott is the highest paid commissioner in collegiate sports. I don't get it...

Baseball I get. The Big10 stomped its feet and pouted until the NCAA compressed the season for them so they have a shot at keeping homegrown talent. Simultaneously, the PNW teams in our conference started giving a shit about baseball all of a sudden and diluted the PAC12 talent pool along the way.

Softball I don't get. It used to be the PAC/SEC showdown. Now it is a free-for-all and I don't know what changed.
