Yeah, I found it hard to believe reading that nobody was without water. A water main broke outside my house a little over a year ago, and flooded the whole street. Water was just about to breach the house before it was shut off. We didn't have water for a few hours after that, and went to a hotel for the night.
Also one burst this summer nearby. It's happening alot, and just a matter of time apparently:

I heard the pipe out here was built in the '20's. Just a matter of time I suppose.

Most major cities have aging pipes. The plan of action is to wait until a burst, and then repair...

The campus I work on recently built a new "green certified" building where the campus hot water heating would be pushed up to the 2nd story instead of being pulled by pumps. Facilities increased the water pressure in the campus hot water system to get the hot water up to the second floor.
This was 2 years ago. They are still trying to plug all the leaks on campus. One building has no heat or hot water since they leak was so bad they had to turn off water to that building.

So basically, UCLA is getting whomever Miller isn't recruiting? Is that what it's gotten to?

Well, it's not like they're getting kids that Miller IS recruiting.

It would be crazy, though, if somehow Rabb, Brown, and Zimmerman all end up in the Pac. Not to mention the rest of our stellar '15 class.

Remember when all the UCLA fans were saying that Alford "beat" Miller in getting Bolden. I think we now know why Miller and every other school backed off. Is Alford's recruiting strategy the same as Howland's? UCLA will take highly talented kids who have red flags and just risk that the NCAA allows them to play or not.

Will have to wait and see if this is his strategy, hard to tell since it is his first year recruiting and that doesn't always bode well for attracting the ideal type of recruit as we saw in Miller's first few years

Actually relieved not to have to deal with the Wears anymore. Or Kyle Anderson, of course.
Alford will probably run a more slowdown style that will still have his five playing out of their minds and somehow get them back to the Pac-12 title game, because UCLA.

Depends entirely on whom they add to their 2015 class, and where they finish this season.
Even it's a disaster, he's got at least one more year to right the ship. Two straight years of missing the tourney, and I think he'd be done.

Not sure it's possible with that contract. I mean sure, his seat can get hot with the fans, but if his seat isn't hot with Guerrero (and one would assume if Guerrero had to fire Steve after three years he would lose his position, although that has been thought to be the case before and it didn't happen) then it would just be the perception that it's hot but not the reality.
Or perhaps he's start winning tons of games. Who knows.

UCLA will need to come up with $10.4 million to fire him.
