I lived in Tucson for a while. Still have close ties there. Fans are sick of Sean almost as much as we were sick of Jamie. It's not crazy to think that it's possible. Especially with the AD relationship.
Which is always hilarious. East coast types and fans always bash Arizona and talk about how so and so is going to want to go back east... But yet everyone moves to Arizona from places like Pittsburgh..almost no one voluntarily moves to places like Pittsburgh from Arizona.UAEebs86 wrote:Irish27 wrote:I got a laugh out of this.

A lot of delusion and Tucson bashing in that thread.
Yeah, one would get the impression we are ready to run CSM out of town.UAEebs86 wrote:Irish27 wrote:I got a laugh out of this.

Seriously, why would we even talk about CSM to Pitt at this stage? If the name ain't UNC (although they should get the death penalty for the crap they've pulled), UK, Duke, maybe a couple of,others....i wouldn't even grace the topic with a post.97cats wrote:zero chance
"I have a close friend in Tucson, and he's just exasperated with Miller. Every time I call him, he just rants about how Miller never plays zone. He keeps telling me that they need to play more 2-3. There are other times when he'll complain about Miller's substitution patterns or how he uses timeouts, but it's mainly about that lack of zone.Irish27 wrote:I got a laugh out of this.

Yeah he's already accepted the job at TCUazcat49 wrote:Comical, Larry Smith bolted and retired to Tucson. Lute's family has never left and put deep roots down. Tomey gets canned and still owns a place. Stoops gets fired nut owns a few houses and is playing golf this week.
Dave Strack and Ced Dempsey owned hones here after the retired. Pretty good lifestyle and the fans are not to tough. Don't have to step over a bunch of really good schools to get players out west. Leaving for Pitt makes zero sense.
Has Dixon left anyway? Might be leveraging for an extension
Dixon is a TCU alum.azcat49 wrote:Wow, so Dixon left for TCU. No doubt the compitition for both players and position in the ACC has proven to be to much. Why else leave for a program like that
This is the whole story. There's no other conceivable reason to leave Pitt for TCU.Spaceman Spiff wrote:Dixon is a TCU alum.azcat49 wrote:Wow, so Dixon left for TCU. No doubt the compitition for both players and position in the ACC has proven to be to much. Why else leave for a program like that
Sure there is. At some point, every coach whose program doesn't live up to expectations wears out his welcome and needs a new start. Usually after about 8-9 years. Same thing with Mick Cronin at Cincinnati.Beachcat97 wrote:This is the whole story. I'm just not sure Miller is their guy. They like to keep it in the family over there. I believe their last four coaches have had ties to UNC.97cats wrote:unfortunately, yesBeachcat97 wrote:Now if UNC were open, perhaps a different story?
Hilarious. They won't know you so it means nothing to them. Although we know better.97cats wrote:did my part
Wow. Now you're freaking me out, 97. Would Miller really be their top target, let alone *a* target? What about the many other young-ish coaches whose resumes warrant consideration for what is arguably a top 3 job nationally? Jay Wright comes to mind, though I don't think he's leaving Nova. How about Thad Matta? Shaka? Tony Bennett? Greg Marshall? Ben Howland? Dana Altman? I'm not saying that any of these guys is somehow *more* deserving than Miller, just that if they're going outside the UNC family tree, there are lots of possibilities. And I doubt many would turn down an offer from UNC. Roy couldn't.97cats wrote:not next time -- a post title departure after the trophy is brought home via Phx is fine by me.

From my friends, who are big backers inside the Dean Dome...Yes, Miller is their top target.Beachcat97 wrote:Wow. Now you're freaking me out, 97. This is also correct. Roys tree is dead on the vine.Longhorned wrote:There's nobody in the UNC family qualified to take UNC job, and none whom its fanbase would accept.
Old, has cancer and no recruiting experience. There isn't anyone with UNC ties.84Cat wrote:George Karl?

He's 65, NC is emerging from the scandal unscathed, and he's leading NC as a 1-seed into the Sweet 16.Beachcat97 wrote:What's crazy is that UNC could open up in a few weeks. True, but who knows how Roy is feeling about all of this? Am I the only one who notices how deflated and weary he looks these days? I don't think Roy will be coaching too much longer, regardless of this year's outcome. And if they win it all, why not go out on top?Longhorned wrote:He's 65, NC is emerging from the scandal unscathed, and he's leading NC as a 1-seed into the Sweet 16.Beachcat97 wrote:What's crazy is that UNC could open up in a few weeks. If we get JJ, this is quite possible. He can be CSM's Carmelo.pokinmik wrote:I have already purchased tickets for the 2017 Final Four in Phx!azcat49 wrote:Please basketball gods, make this happen97cats wrote:if a loaded AZ team makes the Final Four next year all bets are off
Whoever dropped that post about it being more likely that there were actual wildcats on the plane than Sean Miller should post over here. I like the cut of his jib.uacat540 wrote:https://pittsburgh.forums.rivals.com/th ... pus.71559/
Meh...I love how Pitt fans think their program is close to Arizona and that all of a sudden Miller coming up brings all the great recruits. Miller is a fantastic recruiter but the California dimes (that I miss almost every minute) on campus also play a part. I remember walking through campus everyday and seeing the best looking girl I have ever seen to then see an even better one right behind her.
I don't think Pitt is the job anyone's concerned about. It's the one in Chapel Hill.Spaceman Spiff wrote:
Look, we've made 3 Elite Eights in the last 6 years. Pitt has made one in the last 40 years. I'll let 97 say the no chances, but there isn't a comparison between our program and theirs in history.
