Well we're giving up 40 points a game on defense the last 5 games. The fact that we've only given up 14 in 2 1/2 quarters to a conference opponent is a small miracle.OSUCat wrote:Arizona defense can be really bad some times. Well more than sometimes.
Except we're getting more takeaways and starting lots of frosh.ASUHATER! wrote:Well we're giving up 40 points a game on defense the last 5 games. The sunshine and puppies crowd on this board will screech themselves hoarse otherwise, but our defense is as bad as it's ever been.
And giving up dump trucks full of points and offensive yards. But what does that matter right? Who cares if defenses can't do what they're supposed to do by definition.TatetheGreat wrote:Except we're getting more takeaways and starting lots of frosh.ASUHATER! wrote:Well we're giving up 40 points a game on defense the last 5 games. You are such a buzzkill. They are getting more takeaways (an improvement) and starting frosh (who will improve). Not sure why you keep up this glass half empty bullshit.ASUHATER! wrote:And giving up dump trucks full of points and offensive yards. But what does that matter right? The lengths that people go to defend the putrid defenses we've had for the last 3+ years is astonishing. It's like Trump supporter level of dedication to avoiding reality.
Really? He looked shaken up but seemed able to walk okay to the sideline.OSUCat wrote:I think DFF might be done for the season....took a helmet to the knee while it was straight...
40ish nationally on the metric that matters, yards per play, but worry about overall numbers when we face 100 plays at times. And then yell at everyone else about spin.TatetheGreat wrote:You are such a buzzkill. They are getting more takeaways (an improvement) and starting frosh (who will improve). Do you know our bowl opponent already?Bangkok Wildcat wrote:Good job guys! Way to represent on Senior Night......just hope no injuries as we have a really tough next 3 games!
Maybe he thinks we get better recruits if we lose lots - like the Sixers. That so-called sixers fan that hates on McConnell because T.J. is a winner when it is the sixers plan to lose is understandable - at least he has an obvious agenda.TatetheGreat wrote:You are such a buzzkill. That's not the point. Again, you're making excuses for awful performance. Who cares if they can get back in the game or not, our defense has been terrible for years now and and it's unacceptable.RichardCranium wrote:Maybe he thinks we get better recruits if we lose lots - like the Sixers. Nobody, including me, would ever say Arizona has a national championship calibre defense this year, but at no time has OSU looked like a threat to get back into this game.
Agree but it should be a good game. We'll have to win another shootout with our defense, but Oregon has lost 4 of 5 with 3 being blowouts.Gilbertcat wrote:A nice easy win and Tempe lost. Next week is good because of the start time but playing a team off a bye sucks.
It IS possible to do all of these things:EVCat wrote: 40ish nationally on the metric that matters, yards per play, but worry about overall numbers when we face 100 plays at times. And then yell at everyone else about spin.
Eh...how is that the "metric that matters" and other metrics don't mean a thing? What about points per game? Doesn't that metric matter? Our D is 99th (tied for 99th) in how
many points they give up per game. You're accusing someone of spin but ignoring other stats and only touting the stat you prefer as the one "that matters" is spin as well.

This is literally all I've done this season and have been my very obvious views, yet people cannot tolerate any dissent with anything to do with RR. If you are unsatisfied with anything then you're a bad fan.PieceOfMeat wrote:It IS possible to do all of these things:EVCat wrote: 40ish nationally on the metric that matters, yards per play, but worry about overall numbers when we face 100 plays at times. 1. Think, particularly at the start of the season/early in season) that RR should probably get fired
2. Enjoy Tate and the offense winning us games
3. Also state that the D isn't good, and not enjoy watching the D give up huge plays/drives/scores.
Not everything is polar, one or the other, on/off, yes/no.
