Thanks for continuing this board. I know Twitter and other social media are where much of the fandom has gone, and I participate there as well, but it seems less community-driven and more hot take negative. I appreciate this forum...

Mostly up to date; I do need to update some things from my host's end to bring us to the latest and greatest PHPbb. , .also need to take some time to clean up BBcodes and find a few more features to keep with the times.

Just a quick update on some things:

-Just purchased an upgrade to allow us quick and seamless backups and restores
This was a critical step in updating phpBB to the newest version, which will then allow us to update php at the server level. Our host's free
backup process has managed to corrupt databases on other sites I run, so was leery of doing any major server level updating until I was
more confident in the status of my backups.

-Once php and phpBB are fully updated I should be able to set up a new "media manager" to allow embeds to sites like BlueSky

-I just recently discovered that our email server crashed some time ago
The web server crapped out after some host level upgrade many months ago. Did not notice at all, my bad. Anyway, should now be fixed. I
will be sending out a mass email to registered users in the next few days. Hopefully anyone who has lost their login credentials and gave up
or anyone who hasn't been on in ages may decide to pop back in.

More upgrades will be likely in the coming months. Since the backup situation was dicey and I didn't want to risk downtime it's taken some time get some things rolling.

Overnight or early tomorrow I will be making my first server update attempts. If everything goes smoothly you shouldn't notice a thing...If things go sideways, well, at least I've got a shiny new backup I can restore. Ha!

Hey, since yesterday I haven’t been able to log in from my computer (on chrome). I’m able to post this only because I’m still logged in on my phone. Has this been happening to anyone else?

The error I get when I try to log in is “the submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.”

I also recommend clearing your cache for this site only, otherwise you'll be signed out of every account you have.

Expect some intermittent downtime Sunday as I work on:

Rep system (may have to reset all rep to zero and start over either with the current system or alternate)
Media embeds (working on a more elegant solution than the scripts we've been using for Youtube and the like) + hopefully BlueSky.
Upgrading the forum software from phpBB 3.1 to 3.14

I will endeavor to not blow up the site leading up to, during, and several hours after, UA's game vs BYU tomorrow night.
