The dude is 29 years old and can't play more than 6 games in a row without having to be held out multiple games for "general soreness".
We'll take a couple of Double A players and a bag of baseballs for him. Throw in a pitching machine and you can have Gary Sanchez too.

No thank you. Stanton mashes and the Yankees can afford him. Gleyber is young, under team control, and will get out of the bad habits he developed.gronk4heisman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 12:54 pm Take on Stanton's contract and you can have Gelyber too.

And just as I write that, Gleyber has a great AB against the O's closer and ties the game up in the 9th.Chicat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:01 pmNo thank you. Re: 2021 New York Yankees
The Yankees have gone cheap since George passed and will do anything they can to stay below the luxury tax threshold. I would take Judge who we have under control the next two years and actually plays the field (and plays it well) over Stanton who is on the wrong side of 30 and already can not stay healthy as a DH only while putting up slightly worse numbers. P.S. obviously I was joking as I assumed you were to with your proposal.Chicat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:01 pmNo thank you. Stanton mashes and the Yankees can afford him. I would take Stanton over Judge. You can find just about anyone to play RF in Yankee Stadium so I don't see what's so great about his defense.

Re: 2021 New York Yankees
Finally getting to .500 makes me feel marginally better but there’s a big series coming up with the Houston Trashcan Bangers. Taking 2 of 3 against them and the Nats will make me take back some of the unkind things I’ve said about this team.
Thank god April is over.

It’s Luke Voit time.
Overall rehab numbers: 7 for 18, 5 runs, 6 RBIs, 2 2B, 3 HR, 3 BB, 5 K. So it looks like he’s ready to hit.

Looks like they are going ahead with the game tonight. Only one coach (Phil Nevin) has been publicly identified as being positive, but Aaron Hicks was just pulled from the lineup last minute so not sure what's going on there.

The hitting has been anemic, but I guess that's true across baseball? Still, they need to turn it up a notch. DJ especially. Did not expect to see him hitting .265 halfway through May.

Here come the injuries.
Gleyber has Covid.
Hicks might need wrist surgery.
Stanton has a tight quad.
Urshela’s knee is swollen.
It’s only May. Ugh...

Aaron Hicks will have wrist surgery and is done for the season. Which, I mean... I don't like to see anyone get hurt, but he just isn't that great. I'd like to see Frazier get some time in Center once his neck heals up. Unfortunately, knowing Aaron Boone, it just means 58-year-old Brent Gardner and his pool noodle arm will play the next 115 games in a row.

Re: 2021 New York Yankees
Such a great crazy win to kick off a big series in the Bronx.
Jordan Montgomery dominates a team that crushes lefty starters to the tune of 23 wins in their last 25 games, they get a triple play to bail Chapman out of trouble, and then walk it off in the 9th.
Now here comes where I say the bats have to fucking pick it up. They can’t win every game 2-1 (although they are a respectable 6-9 when scoring 2 runs or less). Feels like the team thinks the starter is going to hold the opponent to a run or less through 6 then the bullpen will shut them down the rest of the way so a couple solo home runs and we’ll be fine....
Baseball doesn’t work like that over a 162 game season.

Re: 2021 New York Yankees
Yankees starters have now gone 30 straight innings without giving up a run.
All Yankees pitchers combined have only given up 1 run in the last four games.
The Rangers and White Sox are pretty good offenses so this isn’t some fluke. The pitching has just been that good.
