The laughing is wearing off. I'm starting to be sad.

I'm not sad. Ex-players are pretty clear they feel like they were lied to and ignored. Fans were fairly clearly lied to and ignored.
It's true his enthusiasm is contagious. He's been head coach about 30 min and I'm already enthusiastic about spending more time with my wife and less time watching Arizona football.

Sounds like an award acceptance speech where they thank a bunch of people.
So he's the Andy Enfield of football?
It's a proud tradition of failure and firing that I hope he'll be a part of.EastCoastCat wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:24 pm I changed my mind. He just recited every coach from Larry Smith to Sumlin.

I don't disagree with this. He's certainly not a deer in the headlights type like Sumlin and you can tell he's got that Jersey attitude-thing going on.DrWildcat wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:39 pm Taking how disappointed I was with the hire out, his press conference was fine. Pretty much said what you would expect a new coach to say and he was at least prepared.
Bug, what did you like about him?MrBug708 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:45 pm Not that you guys care too much what I think but I liked him the one year he was at UCLA. Some fans wanted him to get the job before Kelly came into the picture. I think he'll be better than Brennan would have been, but I agree with most of the sentiment that he really shouldnt have been a candidate from the start.
Don't worry. There's a chance he'll probably be back at UCLA next year looking at his resume.MrBug708 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:45 pm Not that you guys care too much what I think but I liked him the one year he was at UCLA. Can you elaborate?EastCoastCat wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:48 pmBug, what did you like about him?MrBug708 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:45 pm Not that you guys care too much what I think but I liked him the one year he was at UCLA. 15 organizations in 23 years. Speaking of marriage, that's like marrying someone who's been married 8 times before and expecting that the 9th time is gonna go great.
Don't worry time will tell if Jed Fisch can do the job or not.PieceOfMeat wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 11:12 am I know Jed Fisch;
So I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies. Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.
But trust me.... You don't.
I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you don't know what you are talking about.
This is how bad info gets passed around.
If you dont know about the topic....Dont make yourself sound like you do.
Cos some people believe anything they hear.
UA football has no proud tradition. What UA football is being inconsistent and unsustain success.Spaceman Spiff wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:34 pmIt's a proud tradition of failure and firing that I hope he'll be a part of.EastCoastCat wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:24 pm I changed my mind. And what does that suppose to mean? I got nothing do with it. All i see is we hired a HC to take over this football and hope some good would come out of it. Unless you want to be like Chi and run for UA President to undo it.catgrad97 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:31 pm@cordera....keep up the self-talk.

Hey! UA had a great tradition in the 1940's Border Conference. Had to ruin it all by going to the WAC.cordera89 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:32 pmUA football has no proud tradition. Needs sources inside the program I guess.Lando05 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:35 pm Is it surprising to see Scheer trying to spin this as good? Jesus Christ what a farse. Jed is a cuck of a hire. Fucking clown car of a football program.
I didn't want the SJSU coach either but our program is so bad that we seem to only attract bottom of the barrel hires. Heck, I'd prefer Todd Graham over the choices we've ended up being able to obtain.RondaeShimmy wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:42 pmNeeds sources inside the program I guess.Lando05 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:35 pm Is it surprising to see Scheer trying to spin this as good? Him retweeting this is just ridiculous, absent any context
Most coaches taking over bad programs have a losing record after 3 seasons. If this guy doesn't have the brain power to understand why, or is just interested in stirring shit up, then just GTFORondaeShimmy wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:42 pmNeeds sources inside the program I guess.Lando05 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:35 pm Is it surprising to see Scheer trying to spin this as good? It means that when it comes to people in charge who couldn't care less about winning, alumni or the fans abusing their power and blowing millions that could have gone to laid-off employees on cronies, you are their most useful of idiots.cordera89 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:38 pmAnd what does that suppose to mean? Baffling how some are saying he said "all the right things" because he knows who Tedy fucking Bruschi and Steve Kerr are lmaoprh wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:16 pm I don't fucking care if you can recite the names of some of the most famous names in college sports. And his resume is entirely lacking on those.
Arizona didn't offer the job to anyone else according to Scheerazcat49 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 2:56 pm If BB turned us down it’s because he could see our esteemed President wasn’t in his corner. F this day, F this year, F football and F our university leadership
He connected well with Rosen and was (and probably still has been) the best OC Rosen has played with. Could have been the Jewish connection, and Fisch did good work at the spot and with playcalling. I think he ends up being a nomad because he's chasing jobs, hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. He's coached really terrible QB's in the NFL. He came to UCLA from Michigan when he was the passing game coordinator. But he hitched his wagon with Jim Mora. The offensive line was shit under Klemm and the defense was garbage, so it didn't work. But the season wasnt a failure because of Fisch, he was the bright spot IMO. I like him, I think he'll probably do better than people expect, but I don't think Arizona should be the program giving him the shot at a head coach spot, so I get the anger.
