I went to the ISU-TCU football game last year in Ames. It was a good time.

I’ll be going to the U of A FB game next year in Ames, too.

Because the US is busy getting ready for the Olympics? 🤷‍♂️

I had thought that the B12 was going to put teams in pods where they play their traditional opponents twice, but obviously that is not the case with playing Colorado and Utah only once also.

At least UA will get 2 wins per season v. ASU.

The Big 12 said we're only guaranteed to play ASU twice (and always play once in football) because we're one of the few rivalries this conference has. Very thankful for that because that mountain trip sucks ass.

ESPN Plus has three UofA players being picked in the first-round of the 2025 NBA draft:

#14 Carter Bryant (Memphis)
#19 Motiejus Krivas (LA Clippers)
#27 KJ Lewis (Brooklyn Nets)

Second round:
#45 Jaden Bradley

I did not know either, so it was explained to me. It's based on an Eminem song called Stan about a stalker.

It's actually a really good video. I remember my kids used to watch it on MTV and it caught my eyes and ears.

I'm not sure he will even start, at least early season. The wing spot is Lewis'. But he is a Mickey D's, and has size at 6'8". Cats can certainly use his height, since he is 2" taller than PF Townsend, and same height as C Atawa. And both those transfers have no outside game, which he does.

They can’t. Similar to the “maybe they’ll move the conference tournament to Vegas” stuff, it was never happening. Folks that put stuff out like this prior to realignment actually happening for Arizona were merely gaslighting, in ignorance.

They can’t schedule KU v Arizona H&A every season because, even if KU/Self would go for that, none of the other ADs would.

When KU comes to town it is a financial boondoggle for everyone, including anyone who is sold out every game every season. Much less importantly, the ADs also know that every season ticket holder wants to watch KU in person as often as possible. It also means games on ESPN or Fox, as opposed to streaming on ESPN+, on account of KU’s panache, which is good for everyone. All of that helps recruiting some as well.

We Arizona fans are going to have to learn some lessons, for the next 3 or so seasons at a minimum.

We are not getting H&A with Kansas. The Tournament is going to be in Kansas City. The Cats are going to lose more games and that especially will be something to grapple with for the Arizona season ticket holders. Lloyd is almost assuredly going to have to change his MO’s (already has started if you’ve been paying attention). You’re going to have to subscribe to ESPN+ if you want to watch every Arizona B12 game. For those that go secondary market for tickets in McKale, those are going to be harder to come by and more expensive (because B12 teams’ fans are going to travel moreso than P12 teams’ fans did, especially the first few seasons).

And probably several more things that haven’t occurred to me yet.

To be fair we will get a home and home with KU probably once every 3 years or so, but the rest of the post...agreed. The only school we're are stuck with a home and home yearly is ASU.

Hope she does something similar to McKale but does it like the Rose Bowl and MSG

So it would be McKale Center presented by Eegee's or whatever

So by my count that leaves us 11 scholarship players. Are we looking at adding any depth, or leaving both open?

At this point it appears we're leaving the 2 spots open. Keeps the door open for a midseason transfer or anything else that pops up.

Looking at the draft "schedule" before what I assume will be filler games, what figure to be the top 11 home games (and I'll include UCLA at Phoenix) involve 4 preseason top 10 teams (Houston, Baylor, Iowa St, Duke), a top 25 (UCLA), 2 more teams from the upper division of the toughest conference in America (TCU, BYU), and 4 historical rivals of one kind or another (ASU, Colorado, Utah, Texas Tech.) And you never know how many of Tommy Lloyd's "filler" teams will actually be pretty good, or maybe even another marquee attraction. I don't really see myself missing the old Pac-12 North schools or USC all that much.

With the geography, I guess that would be very possible, and it would certainly make things interesting. To that point, I looked up our NCAA Tournament records against former (and future) conference rivals.

Former WAC Schools:
2009 - Beat Utah
2002 - Beat Wyoming
1998 - Lost to Utah
1991 - Beat BYU
1987 - Lost to UTEP

Pac Schools (Prior To Joining):
1976 - Lost at UCLA

Big XII Schools (Prior To Joining):
2022 - Beat TCU/Lost to Houston
2008 - Lost to West Virginia
2005 - Beat Oklahoma St
2003 - Lost to Kansas
1997 - Beat Kansas
1996 - Lost to Kansas
1951 - Lost to Kansas St
