It's just too bad that the drop off between Tate and the backups is so extreme.

Nothing like a little pine time to get your head right. What we have here is a failure to communicate.

Good thought process and well said. There are a lot of dynamics in play, but at the end of the day, the adults (coaches) need to take most of the heat as they control the process and receive the life changing paychecks.

Drama and dysfunction is not good for team building.

Is it the Khalil that runs when he has tons of open space in front of him? Or the one that chucks it into double and triple coverage instead?

Unless KT uses his legs like in 2017 he's a VERY forgettable player...plus the drama and immaturity. Hope he proves me wrong a tears it up, but I'm pretty pessimistic on this.

My thoughts exactly. If 2017 him shows up, fantastic. If 2018 him does, no thanks.

Same here. But at least now the Cats have a decent QB in Gunnell who will pressure Tate into actually doing what the coaches want.

Yep, I'm guessing it will be the latter with an added run out of bounds for a loss instead of throwing it away.

I dont see it being an issue next year. I would have to think that with the transfer talks that his attitude was addressed with Sumlin and Mazone. If he gets beat out by Gunnell and he acts the fool I guarantee it that Tate will be booted.

You realize that the advanced stats that factor in QB runs and QB passing had 2017 and 2018 as almost the exact same ranking right?

I think it is good news. I think the issue as much as it was Tate was equally the coaching staff. Right from the get go players found out things would not be as they expected and the questioned some on the decisions made.

One would have think they talked it out and hopefully the team comes back with a vengeance, expecially against the scum

Unless Tate figures out how to step forward into open space instead of rolling left into no man's land, or figures out how to not throw into triple coverage, or even just realizes to throw the ball away instead of taking 8 yard sacks, no thanks.

Give me a QB who can make even some easy throws and not make idiotic decisions. That's what I want.

Regardless if he decides to use his legs or not... develops better decision making abilities or not... unless he miraculously turns into a leader we will be the same old Cats.

Nothing says leader more than announcing you're coming back, which wasn't even necessary, on signing day when you really had no other legitimate options.

Did Tate announce it or did the coaching staff and media?

Looks like it was coaching staff to me... Didn't see it on Twitter and Sumlin was the one who made the announcement to the press. And I wonder if they didn't want to just wait until Gunnell was secured before making it public. I don't think we need to pile on the kid guys.

Agree. It is lame and disgusting that everything some people do (Tate, Sarver, Scott) that many people just shit on them no matter what.

Tate hasn't posted on twitter since August, which is no doubt a good thing.

I think we can all agree with Lev.

It's a positive yes, but nowhere near a game changer or anything that warrants more than a "good I guess" imo.

I bet he was very happy to see us grab Boobie Curry yesterday with the departures in the receivers group next year.

I have no particular dislike towards Tate so I'm not going to "pile on", however, I will reserve judgment for now.

Yep, look for jump balls thrown his way like Tate did with Poindexter since he lists at 6'3".

Although Curry already has a on field rapport with Gunnell.
