You knew it was bound to happen. Holland was threatening most of the second half.

Another heart breaker in play. Costa Rica gives up the tieing goal in extra time. I hope this isn't the fate of all the Concacef teams in the knock-out round. We got ours out of the way against Portugal.

Great win for Costa Rica and CONCAF. Netherlands could be upset by Costa Rica if they play like they did against Mexico.

France looked pretty good. They're going to have a very interesting game against Ger...I mean, against the Germany/Algeria winner.

Great news for the U.S.
SALVADOR, Brazil -- U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said on Monday that forward Jozy Altidore had been with the team "two, three days" but added that it's difficult to say how many minutes are in him.

"We don't know how much [he can play] ... but he's available," Klinsmann said during a news conference in Salvador. "It's now difficult to say how many minutes."

Not realistic that he starts, but he might come in as a sub.

We still have the two 15 minute overtime periods to go, but for some reason this game (Argentina/Switzerland) has felt for a little while like it's just going to go to penalties.

When is a 4-3-3 not a 4-3-3?

Kilnsmann is hilarious with some of the stuff he puts out in the media and even with the stuff he's required to submit (like our starting 11 an hour before kickoff).

What is our lineup? a 4-6-0? A 4-5-1? I'm not really sure what it is but a can guarantee it won't function as a 4-3-3.

USA USA USA

Cameron in for Beckerman. Im guessing will see Fab Johnson making more forward runs and them interchanging quite often

We're the kings of the professional foul right now. Probably pick up our first yellow before the 25' or so

That early Fabian sub also probably drops the chances of seeing Altidore from 5% to 0%.

First 15 minutes kinda sucked.

Next 15 minutes were interesting back and forth.

Last 15 minutes held some very interesting US attacks and some Belgium frustration.

Bradley's been much better. Jones has had a couple good defensive moments but other than that he's off his game. Yedlin is electric. Dempsey hasn't been great. I feel like we miss Beckerman a lot. Beasley has had a great tournament.

We're really going to miss Johnson. I feel our best chance at scoring was the move JK used the last couple games with Yedlin coming in above Johnson and have both attack.

Key Stat - Time of Possession 53% USA

They must continue that the rest of the game. Doing so will frustrate Belgium even further.

This was going to be a tough game for Jones because he's so slow compared to the other team

Yeldin is just feeling it. I see a long term RB. He just not fast, he has strength to push people off the ball. It is what beasley really lacked his whole career.

Cameron's position is less than Beckerman's position. It is causing Jones to have to move so much.Although Cameron brings height and strength that we seem to need in set pieces.

Not bad. Better than Germany but not like Portugal. Bradley still lacking some passing, but overall you have to be happy.

Bradley's been much better this game. A couple passes were off but he's had some good ones, too, especially feeding Yedlin the ball with the long pass.
