As a team, our assist production was just insane this past season. Had to be one of the best passing teams we've ever had.
Thrilled that we'll have Kriisa for a while longer. He's going to blow a lot of kisses next season.

Can he stay 5?
I think he showed up the year after the COVID freebie, I know he was robbed of all but 8 games his first year so not sure where that puts his eligibility, but he might get a half a season.
Enough to whoop the dookies in Tucson.

Yeah. More years of Kriisa is a very good thing, imo. His shooting's going to improve, and he's just a special player. Gets under the opponent's skin every time.

He shot terribly and turned the ball over. Like Ben I think he will soon realize stars in the NBA are on a different level. I'm glad he is confident but some of his antics might cost us. Needs to tone down the outward demonstrations and celebrate with his teammates.

No way. The last thing you want is to tone down what has made him a very effective college guard. You want him to stop firing up his teammates and getting under the opponent’s skin? No thanks.

You can do all of that and not put the team at risk. His interaction with officials is the greatest concern to me.

Going 1-4 2PT and 0-7 3PT yesterday sure won't improve his NBA chances.

He has had a bad overall tournament. He is streaky and I'm glad he can keep his confidence up but needs a bit better decision making.

So far, his skill/execution haven't warranted that swagger. He's either going to mature soon and learn how he can most impact the game, or he's going to have one game where he's 8-11 for every four where he's 1-11.

He's the first guy I heard scream "BTFD" (the words) last season - (to us fans as he left the court after we smoked Michigan in Vegas)...
... He's my guy and I love his attitude!!!

Kriisa is the kind of measured asshole kid I can get behind. He actually displays the kind of maturity historical in his national identity: small, pushed around by larger bullies, willing to compete on the landscape framed by larger forces within a game that rewards boldness in the willingness to execute if not in the outcome of the execution. Is this not sports writ large?
If he were just a cunt on the court, with a paucity of comaraderie and team perspective, out merely to self-represent, I'd bag on him in an instant because while his swagger is loud, his flaws resound with a nearly equal loudness. But he takes a punch as good as he gives even if it is self-directed, and I respect that. In no small measure, being an asshole, I have kinship with assholes.
Shoot better, you fucking asshole, and I'll build a shrine to you. Until then you're just my guy as you try to keep up with yourself.

He had one good game and for a point guard he turned the ball over way to much. He was going against a few good NBA players so maybe it was the level of competition.

AND he had a triple vulgarism in the interview. He definitely has the American idioms down.

Courtney Ramey is another good example of Tommy Lloyd being a killer coach. The offensive freedom has just completely opened up parts of Ramey's game we haven't seen in years. Ramey had 2 games of 17+ points all of last year.
He's cracked 17+ in both of his first two at Zona.

Wonder what that little conversation was Kerr had with Lloyd at the sidelines after he came back into the game late and had that little assist on the back line. Lloyd retorted and looked irritated.

Don’t even want to talk about how well he played today.
I just want to know what he said to CTL after that sweet dish. Lloyd first was amused then yelled something back at him. Lol.

He was the real MVP this week. Every time we absolutely had to have a bucket he either scored it himself or set it up. He was poetry in motion.

If I had to guess I bet Tommy said "You got fucking lucky, dude. Try to be sure your teammate is actually back there for that no-look blind-ass dump-off got-no-plan-B drive into a traffic jam under the basket surrounded by half the opposing team." And if I had to guess I bet Kriisa said "No sweat, Coach, I'll do it off my non-dominant hand next time and pass it up over the back of the glass and off the shot clock, just for the difficulty factor." And if I had to guess I bet Tommy said, "Aw shucks, try that and I'll make borscht out of your nuts you cocky little fucker."

Dude needs to check himself a bit when in game. Just a little. Still carry the swagger just do it in a way where it doesn't attract ref attention. The techs he is causing the team to receive are momentum killers and he doesn't realize it. I love the guy's game, but, he has to know when it is safe to show attitude and when it isn't. I haven't seen this many techs on a Wildcat team during the season in a very long time. The refs are watching him now. They are just waiting for him to do or say something that they can use to throw that tech. Guess you can say they are targeting him a bit.

No doubt he does, but that tech on the flop call end of the first half was bogus. Kriisa was moving backwards and the UW player had his hand on Kriisa's chest pushing him.

Kerr wasn’t called for a tech due to his attitude yesterday. It was a flop call, which now results in a technical free throw for the opposing team. It was a bit confusing because the announcers were completely clueless and made it sound like it was due to him getting in the official’s face. (By the way, the flop call was correct, much as I hate to admit it.)
Re: Kerr Kriisa

I thought the flop call should have been a play-on. It wasn’t an over the top acting job. The ballhandler initiated the contact driving his shoulder into Kerr’s chest while Kerr was moving backwards and was off balance. Save the flop calls for when guys go down like they’ve been shot for no reason other than to try and draw a charge.
But speaking of his interactions with the refs, after the flop call he calmly pled his case, the ref gave him a short answer, and Kerr calmly went back to the huddle. I think last year he would have been a lot more demonstrative and might have lined himself up for a second tech either right there or later on. I think he’s much more conscious of not getting on the refs bad sides.

Well the ref that called it was none other than Michael Irving. Who is he? He is the guy that T’d up Miller for the bounty. Somehow he is back working our games
