Do you truly believe that the football alums are saying these things because they believe it or do you think they’re saying these things to support the athletic department because they’re being asked to? We can say a lot about DRF, but one thing she isn’t is stupid. She knows some fans will eat up the words of Foles and Cecil and it’ll keep them buying tickets to games. This is a basic sales scheme.azcat49 wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 2:15 pm Absolutely no one can argue that CBB Did a good job. His team looked undisciplined, unmotivated, potentially poorly conditioned, poorly prepared and executed poorly. You certainly could say that it is hard to think that those things will change in a season.
I do though wonder if Babers was forced on him? Seeing his personality I can see where he would probably clap and say let’s go so in essence it’s on him if so.
I do see the tweets by former players trying to rally support as encouraging. They know ball better then any of us so we can only hope they are right.
I do believe certain journalistic people really got bent out of shape about their access and used the poor play to pile on. While not wrong in their critique of the team, they got personal and now I really think it will be extra difficult for him to find success.
I am not a fan of DRF so far but it seems like she recognizes the road blocks that might have been put in front of DRF. She seems to be giving him support in the areas he needs help in and for that, I applaud her.
At this point expect only Babers, Akina, and Gonzales gone.Carcassdragger wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 7:22 pm Monday has now come and gone. I expected to see announcements on what coaches are let go and.....nothing.
Outrageous if we're expected to witness another year of this same staff continuing to fail.
It feels like DRF thinks we're stupid if she thinks we're going to buy tickets just because star alum say to give CBB a chance.ChooChooCat wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 9:20 pmDo you truly believe that the football alums are saying these things because they believe it or do you think they’re saying these things to support the athletic department because they’re being asked to? Believe me there are a lot of stupid people in this fanbase that’ll eat that shit up and buy everything Foles and Cecil is saying. I’m not just talking bad about our fanbase, because those type of fans exist in every fanbase and every AD knows it. “Oh wow my hero believes this grossly incompetent coach who I watched with my two eyes fail isn’t actually grossly incompetent. He knows more than me, I gotta go buy tickets and support the team like he’s telling me to!”AZCatGirl wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 9:47 pmIt feels like DRF thinks we're stupid if she thinks we're going to buy tickets just because star alum say to give CBB a chance.ChooChooCat wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 9:20 pmDo you truly believe that the football alums are saying these things because they believe it or do you think they’re saying these things to support the athletic department because they’re being asked to? Next year is going to be shit and we all know it. If people want to buy tickets knowing that, that's their business, but don't shove Nick Foles and Chuck Cecil in my face telling me lies about what a great job CBB will do just because he's a good person.
Here's something to think about. In 2023 the UA ranked 50th in football attendance, even though we had a top 15 ranked football team (kind of shoots down the bullshit argument that the UA would get better attendance if we had a decent team). If the UA fans won't support the program and the top donors won't open their wallets the UA will likely never be successful in football.

you realize every stadium is a different size right?
If those numbers are true (I doubt we actually averaged that much) that means we were at 94% capacity every game. Pretty damn impressive turnout for a team that only won 1 game just 2 years prior. But that doesn’t fit the narrative?
We averaged the same % capacity as #18 on the list Wisconsin.
You know why those stadiums have so much more capacity? You know why those stadiums have so much more capacity? Because people actually want to go to the games and actually show up. Also why has Arizona Stadium capacity gone down multiple times and dropped 14% since Stoops
How many of these other ones dropped 14% since Mike Stoops was on Arizona's sidelines?
So Florida State should have 30k a game next year right?AZarchery wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 2:58 pmYou know why those stadiums have so much more capacity? You know why those stadiums have so much more capacity? They consistently field better teams that are fun to watch and have throughout their history.

A 7 sec good search says
"College football attendance has been declining over the past decade, with the average number of fans per game dropping below 40,000:
2008: The all-time high for average attendance was 46,971 fans per game
2013: Attendance began to decline every year
2021: Attendance was down 15% from 2008, with an average of 39,848 fans per game "
So literally every team has experienced some sort of decline according to google. Its up to them to shrink their stadium or not.
Fans show up for good teams. Pretty basic stuff. We filled the stadium when the cats were good in 2023, only 2 years after watching some of the worst teams ever. Pretty remarkable, we should be proud of our fans.
No one is going to watch boring, undisciplined team. Next years gonna be BRUTAL.
Again, who gives a fuck? If a Bavarian was a great player and his family made some of those leather shorts for him to wear during game, who cares?Merkin wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 4:36 pm My only issue with the lei is: What about the other players who want Brennan to represent something from their culture?

Idk about a 30k game but their second to last game of the year they had an attendance of 46k…..in a stadium that holds 82,000. Only a season ago they were undefeated and sold out. People don’t want to watch a bad product.
So fair weatherAZarchery wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:25 pmIdk about a 30k game but their second to last game of the year they had an attendance of 46k…..in a stadium that holds 82,000. Only a season ago they were undefeated and sold out. People don’t want to watch a bad product.
Uofa has regularly fielded a bad product, thus lack of attendance.
Google says there were 46k in our stadium that holds 50. So who is lying?PHXCATS wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:35 pm UA was 3-1 coming off beating a top 10 team on the road and no one showed up
Admit it, the fanbase sucks as a whole

Funny UA is in Tucson with over a million people in the metro area and thousands come from Phoenix every game yet Arizona is one of the only power conference schools with shitty attendance consistentlyAZCatGirl wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 9:34 pmWhy do you think people are made of money and time, and have nothing better to do with each than spend it on a bad product?PHXCATS wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:34 pmSo fair weatherAZarchery wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:25 pmIdk about a 30k game but their second to last game of the year they had an attendance of 46k…..in a stadium that holds 82,000. Have Wildcat football teams ever performed better than mediocre? Including the 1998 season we have had 12 seasons at .500 or better. 12 out of 27 seasons.PHXCATS wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 10:11 pmFunny UA is in Tucson with over a million people in the metro area and thousands come from Phoenix every game yet Arizona is one of the only power conference schools with shitty attendance consistentlyAZCatGirl wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 9:34 pmWhy do you think people are made of money and time, and have nothing better to do with each than spend it on a bad product?PHXCATS wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:34 pmSo fair weatherAZarchery wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:25 pmIdk about a 30k game but their second to last game of the year they had an attendance of 46k…..in a stadium that holds 82,000.
