I love it. Unfortunately it's just the Gonzaga home jersey with Arizona thrown on top of it but still. That is a great looking jersey, wish they were real

I believe it's "Oo-mar."
I take it they got the eligibility concerns figured out? If his elgibility issues are like Kerr's last year it should not be an issue since he is not expected make much of an impact this year and is a long term project. He has the measurables, but his game needs a lot of improvement which I believe this staff is up to the task to do.
Damn he's pretty young.plays in the competitive French third division against professionals and has developed much of France's young basketball talent historically. Bal averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 27 minutes over the course of 18 games.
Bal, who doesn't turn 18 until the middle of December, could be the youngest player in college basketball next season, following a similar route to Gonzaga's Joel Ayayi, who also enrolled as a 17-year old. He has excellent size for a guard with a 6'11 wingspan, and strong versatility as a passer, shot-maker and defender that should allow him to play a variety of roles in different lineup configurations as he gains strength and experience.
"It came down to opportunity. I had no clear intention of going to college and really considered going pro, but offers were fairly limited in France. So when the Arizona offer came around late, with the level of facilities, staff and the development plan for me there, it was really difficult to pass up."
I'd agree with this. He has great length, but he's rail thin and all scouting says his J and remainder of game need to grow.gronk4heisman wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 10:50 amI take it they got the eligibility concerns figured out? I saw this highlight reel last week and my takeaway was, damn this guy loves the contested mid range shot.
True, although my other takeaway was lay off the ****ing horn.gronk4heisman wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:09 amI saw this highlight reel last week and my takeaway was, damn this guy loves the contested mid range shot.
Nope. Adama will be a garbage time guy or a redshirt. Still going to add another guard or twoLonghorned wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:21 am So this finalizes it, right? No more guards incoming this recruiting cycle? And next year it's Kerr and Pelle starting in the backcourt?
Thanks. Sounds like there's still potentially a starting role available at either position.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:24 amNope. Adama will be a garbage time guy or a redshirt. Right - plus 4 walk-ons.gronk4heisman wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:02 am Correct me if my numbers are wrong, but I count 10 players on our roster currently for next year, 8 of which are international.

Sounds like a good shot taker. Also sounds like a.....highlight reel?Longhorned wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:46 am Watching the Euro highlights of Pelle, I thought he looked more like a stretch 4 than a guard. All power dunks and 3-pointers.
Pelle is a great shooter, but has a major issue with turnovers and was average in all other areas. He might start, but I'm not sure he's better than Mathurin/Terry at the 2.Longhorned wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:28 amThanks. Starter level?ChooChooCat wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:54 am I know of a PG target that's not the Euro and I'm not fully confident he's the route we're going to take, but definitely one we're seriously exploring/considering.

I've heard things, but nothing makes me confident it's a real option. Probably more poking and prodding at the option than anything, especially with his friend now committed. I doubt it'd be an actual option as the guy is a lotto pick next year, and if he doesn't stay overseas, he's likely going to that G League team.
You know, in February, I wouldn't have told you the two most important figures in Arizona men's basketball would be Robert Robbins and Nolan Hickman, but here we are.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 12:38 pm If Hickman does in fact end up at Gonzaga, I expect Harris to come available via transfer portal. You mean the guy awaiting trial for vehicular manslaughter? Zaon Collins? I would hope we are not in on that kid, if you are referring to Kaluma he is not a PG.RondaeShimmy wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 1:18 pmIs he the former UNLV commit?ChooChooCat wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 12:01 pmBackup level seems more likely.Spaceman Spiff wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:59 amStarter level?ChooChooCat wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 11:54 am I know of a PG target that's not the Euro and I'm not fully confident he's the route we're going to take, but definitely one we're seriously exploring/considering.
I would take Harris or Cook off of Gonzaga's hands.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 12:38 pm If Hickman does in fact end up at Gonzaga, I expect Harris to come available via transfer portal. I would be interested in that one
By the strictest adherence to your question, the answer is yes.
That would be a gut punch. Kaluma has high upside.
It would suck, but like Tyty, Arizona has been recruiting them for like 3 weeks at most.Spaceman Spiff wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 1:46 pmThat would be a gut punch. Kaluma has high upside.
Missing on both him and Tyty after seemingly leading for both for a bit would suck.
If we miss on Kaluma, it also leaves an open ended question of "Can Tommy Lloyd recruit big time US HS talent as a head guy?"Spaceman Spiff wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 1:46 pmThat would be a gut punch. Kaluma has high upside.
