Honestly I don't see him to develop into anything more than a role player by year three or four. Was never too high on Dezonie

Sounds more like a Dylan Smith type of guy...BeardownZonaZona wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 7:55 am I saw one recruiting analyst put it pretty well. He's not the most athletic, but he's athletic enough. For him to contribute he's going to have to develop one of his skills a lot
I agree with that assessment, but in a more positive way. I can think of worse profiles for a backup guard than solid in every area.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 7:55 am I saw one recruiting analyst put it pretty well. In no version of this world would I claim Dylan Smith's ballhandling or penetration and finish game were "good enough."MountainCat wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:17 amSounds more like a Dylan Smith type of guy...BeardownZonaZona wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 7:55 am I saw one recruiting analyst put it pretty well. It's not what we think, it's what they player thinks his potential is regardless of outcome.Spaceman Spiff wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:19 amIn no version of this world would I claim Dylan Smith's ballhandling or penetration and finish game were "good enough."MountainCat wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:17 amSounds more like a Dylan Smith type of guy...BeardownZonaZona wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 7:55 am I saw one recruiting analyst put it pretty well. If I had to guess it probably was from him attending a few practices with Tommy and either believing it was a bad fit from a system or personality stand point. Free transfers this year so why not put his name in the portal with the other 1500 guys.
It won't change much off the bat. Tubelis is still the 4 and should get the lion's share of the minutes. JB would have backed him up, Kaluma would be the same.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Mon May 03, 2021 5:06 pm I think this is a good sign for Kaluma. Just want to note that this past season, which has flown largely under the radar due to COVID, Kaluma has showed a lot of growth in his offensive game: he has ball handling skills already, he's been a willing facilitator for his high school team, and he is taking (and making) threes. The old scouting report that he's a limited offensive prospect who provides energy and length on defense is out of date. Still growth to be had, but he's showing promise.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Mon May 03, 2021 5:18 pm Kaluma is a great defender. Brown was kinda a liability on defense. Doesn't bring the offensive game Brown brings, but he can guard multiple positions and a good rebounder. Could honestly be an upgrade if it happens
Wow. He was already a great prospect. He could be really good for usYoDeFoe wrote: Mon May 03, 2021 9:03 pmJust want to note that this past season, which has flown largely under the radar due to COVID, Kaluma has showed a lot of growth in his offensive game: he has ball handling skills already, he's been a willing facilitator for his high school team, and he is taking (and making) threes. He avg'd 25 & 10 this past season.
I love the invite.
I think that's just a guy who knows Arizona got a new coach talking about stuff.YoDeFoe wrote: Thu May 06, 2021 10:29 amI love the invite.
But I'm confused by the rest of the tweet. Does this guy have some insight into Tommy's line-up decisions, which somehow predate Tommy setting a roster? What is Dalen's proper position?
Downwards facing dog. Dude thinks Terry will benefit from more ankle mobility.Chicat wrote: Thu May 06, 2021 11:48 am I'd love to know what this guy thinks Terry's proper position is, because wasn't he listed as a PG coming out of high school? Does he think that's where Tommy Boy is going to play him?
This kid isn't a point guard tho?Longhorned wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 11:33 am I'll take it. With few exceptions, I'm so much more comfortable with this kind of player than a highly rated incoming freshman point guard.
Can't wait to find out as well, because I think he should see some minutes at the 4 because if his passing ability. Can use him in the PNR as a shirt roll man, feeding cutters from the high post, ect. Where he plays full time though should be fun the see. He can play all over the floor and in multiple roles. Just needs to fill out that frame first.Chicat wrote: Thu May 06, 2021 11:48 am I'd love to know what this guy thinks Terry's proper position is, because wasn't he listed as a PG coming out of high school? Am I putting too much stock in the reminder that Kerr is actually pg? If not then I don't know how the pieces fit together with Kerr and Pelle.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 11:38 amThis kid isn't a point guard tho?Longhorned wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 11:33 am I'll take it. Ideally Kerr is backing up the 1 and the 2.Longhorned wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 12:51 pmAm I putting too much stock in the reminder that Kerr is actually pg? I think Pelle or nowell takes the starting 2, probably Pelle. We get a pg via transfer portal or Europe to start. And Kerr is our super sixth man who is the primary ball handler and best shooter off the bench. That'd be the best situation in my opiniongronk4heisman wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 12:55 pmIdeally Kerr is backing up the 1 and the 2.Longhorned wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 12:51 pmAm I putting too much stock in the reminder that Kerr is actually pg? I don't doubt your ideal vision, but the part I can't square is a presumptive starter whose head coach gets fired, and then he enters the transfer portal, and then decides to return for a new coach and come off the bench behind incoming transfers.BeardownZonaZona wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 12:57 pmI think Pelle or nowell takes the starting 2, probably Pelle. I was wondering the same thing. Look at what happened to Baker once he lost his starting position. Bailed out as soon as he could.Longhorned wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 2:15 pm I don't doubt your ideal vision, but the part I can't square is a presumptive starter whose head coach gets fired, and then he enters the transfer portal, and then decides to return for a new coach and come off the bench behind incoming transfers.
For me, it's a question if we're still looking for a starting point guard transfer, who by definition will come in and play 32-36 mpg. If so, then we have Kerr signing up to come off the bench and have lamb's share of 44-48 mpg with Pelle. He could be looking at 15 minutes a game. It's just strange in a world where quality players transfer to meet their own requirements for roles and minutes, and more surprising when said player's coach got fired.YoDeFoe wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 3:34 pm Kerr can play either guard spot. Not sure why any of that is in question.
Transfer or euro prospect at the 1 likely. Lloyd will be patient. Won't take just any one guard. Going to wait for the right oneAlieberman wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 4:50 pm Is Kerr our projected starter at PG... or are we still counting on a transfer to start at PG?
I get that we won’t see it as a day one starting lineup, but I’m very much looking forward to watching Kerr along with Pelle and Mathurin across the back - that’s a lot of playmaking and shooting.ChooChooCat wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 5:55 pm Arizona plans to add another PG, but you guys are underestimating Kerr way too much here in this regard.

Why? Because a bunch of idiot posters?JCatano wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 7:24 pm Kerr is going to enter the transfer portal again if he reads this thread.
I have never thought anything other than he would start. It took Tubelis about 8 games to get his footing. Kerr only played that many.Olsondogg wrote: Sun May 09, 2021 7:42 pmWhy? Kerr is starting next year. For fucks sake he stared last year.
He knows how good he is. So does Lloyd. So will you, if you don’t know already.
So much stupid here.
