Alsadek is a 6-7, 298, red shirt Sophomore offensive lineman from San Diego, CA. He started 11 games last year at right guard and was a USA Today Freshman All-American. The common knock on our offense is we could struggle because of graduating 3 lineman, but they fail to mention we are returning both guards who may have been our toughest run blockers. Alsadek will be a key part in rebuilding the line. Here are a couple revealing answers Alsadek gave in an interview to AZ Desert Swarm last year:
178 is the number of rushing yards Nick Wilson had in our victory over AssU last year. How do you bring the running game back up to where it was earlier in the year?
Just getting movement I think. Sometimes we kinda just stop our feet, and you've gotta keep your feet moving through the block and you gotta keep blocking. You can't just stop, and I think that's been a big one for us. And getting to our right aiming points, and not letting a guy make a one-armed tackle. That's obviously really frustrating cuz that happened to me a couple times the last game, and after watching the film, it just really pissed me off. He shouldn't be making a one-armed tackle on me, but I stopped my feet.
What was your mood like after the UCLA game?
I could barely talk to my parents. And that was the first time I had seen my parents in like two weeks or a month. My mom was crying because this is the first time I've seen her in forever, and I just didn't want to see them. I was just so mad, and pissed off, and I just don't what that to happen again. We got beat. It was bad for me. To me it was bad because it was on the offense. The defense played great, and it was up to us to be able to score and we just weren't scoring. And we were barely giving (the defense) anytime to rest either. So many snaps, and it was partly our fault.
