Eligibility clock starts when you first enroll at college, so a one and done would not be able to come back.

JR Smith was straight out of High School and was able to come back on a golf scholarship (not like he needs it).

As Chief has told us, long snappers aren't worth a scholarship. Especially a backup one

In Chief's defense, from my understanding a lot of programs don't give scholarships to long snappers. A guy I work with's son was an Army All American long snapper in HS. Had everyone wanting him (Bama, Georgia, etc,) but none of them wanted to part with a scholarship for a long snapper. He did end up with a scholly at Oregon where he ended up playing, so it does happen, but sounds like it's not a given.
