Re: The Fart Thread
With a potty-training two year old I've actually been grappling with this topic lately. I've been undecided on exactly how crass the word "fart" really is. Because I'd rather my daughter walk around telling strangers (and mother in law) that she has to "toot" when the inevitable happens, I find ...

Re: Washington DC
Went there about a month after 9/11... The weather was outstanding, and the crowds were miniscule, though that might have had something to do with the attack. Got to see the hole in the Pentagon firsthand actually. I was very impressed with the metro system (never experienced a subway growing up in ...

Re: Vegas
How are they doing that? Are they charged an airport tax like the cabs?
From the article:
"Ride-hailing companies pay $2.45 anytime one of their contracted drivers picks up or drops off customers at McCarran. Taxis pay a $2 fee for each airport pick up and nothing for drop-offs."

Did you hit the wave pool?
Yep, but I prefer the lazy river.
On a side note I accidentally left my kindle in the cab at McCarran. I did get it back though.
Kind of off-topic, but one of the local news stations did a story comparing prices for taxis, Uber, and Lyft here in Vegas. The taxis were ...

When you make it to Utah, fry sauce... Freddy's offers it nationwide (I like the jalapeƱo variety), as does Arctic Circle for a limited number of folks, but it seems every restaurant in Utah offers their own delicious take on it. In normal life, mustard, followed by a spiced-up ketchup (Whataburger ...

I won't post much more than I did in that Oregon Coast thread, except to say that the Rogue Brewery is located in Newport! I've read mixed reviews on the place, but it might be worth looking into. Otherwise, Newport, Yachats, and some of the other towns on the way to Florence have great food to go ...

Oh, it's definitely exaggerated (should've prefaced that), but after a half dozen letdowns during the couple years I've been here I'm a tad jaded! I'm still open to suggestion though, because I realize at least a decent percentage of the hundreds of Mexican places here must be good. I will be glad ...

We're getting married in Ecola State Park between Seaside (where our rental house is, only $800 for the week btw and steps from the water) and Cannon Beach. The officiant seems awesome. I will always have a special place in my heart for Tucson International, simply because of the non-stop to Vegas. I don't recall the actual location, but I stayed in Yellowstone about a decade ago. This property in particular had a nice lodge, but also many cabins. Because I just showed up without any reservations I ended up in a cabin duplex thing for like $100 a night. It was a dump, and like so many other ...

That's a tough one, because I could never identify the right chiles - Arbol? Cascabel? Red Jalapenos? Fresnos? Habaneros? Others? A blend? - so I buy the one I liked the most which is this: Poblano Hot Sauce Salsa Ranchera . Made in Tucson.

I was under the impression that the kits available on Amazon, and there are many, often were a matter of quantity over quality, so I'll have to take another look. Hope you're eating lots of local chowder! Aberdeen might be the biggest ...

I would think that rivals must have noticed the drastic drop off, which could spell big trouble for the site's legitimacy. Rivals could decide to cut the cord, like when a patent company doesn't like the actions of a franchise branch.
