4 major cancer charities a sham

Post by ASUHATER! »

http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/19/us/scam-c ... index.html

Says $187 million was collected by the Cancer Fund of America, The Breast Cancer Society, Cancer Support Services and the Children's Cancer Fund of America from 2008-2012 and barely 3% was ever actually used to support cancer research or victims. All 4 charities owned by extended members of the same family.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

So, just two weeks ago I was in Phoenix staying with my aunt who's survived cancer three times already, including lymphoma and, at age 60, breast cancer. She received a phone call the morning I was supposed to leave, the voice on the other end wanted to schedule an appointment to run tests on her elevated calcium levels in her blood. She asked what this could mean, and isn't told much. She then researches via Internet and breaks down upon seeing hypercalcemia is a symptom of cancer.

She just kept wailing, "I can't go through this all again!"

For three hours, she just cried and hugged me.

Thankfully I did some research and called her doctor and mediated some basic info and he didn't suspect it was anything cancerous.

Test results came back last week and nothing concerning at the present time.

But that day I saw my cancer surviving aunt brought to her ailing knees over the threat of cancer yet again.

And these fuckers prey upon scenes like this.

People ask me why I dislike people all the time, I always say "It isn't hard to figure out why".

I am curious why everyone is so shocked by this. I've read reports about charities like this for years. Back in the 90's I remember a charity that went door to door to support your local police. My default is that charities are scams unless they are proven not to be.

i wouldn't say "shocked". I'd say incredibly disappointed and angry at certain people.

Anyway, CharityNavigator.com is your friend.

I ask, "Are you a person?" If they say yes, I decline. Fund-raisers for law enforcement are often just profit centers. I give to United Way and recruits, er, student athletes via general alum activities.
Right where I want to be.

I give food to local food banks. It's tough to turn six boxes of Mac & Cheese into a luxury yacht.

Bucktown (remember him?) and I worked for a charity. That's why I don't give to them.
