History of NORAD's Santa Tracker. . . http://www.npr.org/2014/12/19/371647099 ... ium=social
Terri remembers her dad had two phones on his desk, including a red one. "Only a four-star general at the Pentagon and my dad had the number," she says.

"This was the '50s, this was the Cold War, and he would have been the first one to know if there was an attack on the United States," Rick says.

The red phone rang one day in December 1955, and Shoup answered it, Pam says. "And then there was a small voice that just asked, 'Is this Santa Claus?' "

His children remember Shoup as straight-laced and disciplined, and he was annoyed and upset by the call and thought it was a joke — but then, Terri says, the little voice started crying.

"And Dad realized that it wasn't a joke," her sister says. "So he talked to him, ho-ho-ho'd and asked if he had been a good boy and, 'May I talk to your mother?' And the mother got on and said, 'You haven't seen the paper yet? There's a phone number to call Santa. It's in the Sears ad.' Dad looked it up, and there it was, his red phone number. And they had children calling one after another, so he put a couple of airmen on the phones to act like Santa Claus."

What's Christmas without a Nativity controversy? http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/12/23/oh ... ity-scene/
An Ohio homeowner was ordered by town officials to remove a Nativity scene in front of his house that featured zombies instead of wise men and a baby Jesus.

"I wanted a Nativity and I worked with what I had," Jasen Dixon, who manages a nearby haunted house, told Fox 19. "The neighbors don't like it. My father hates it and anything bad that happens he blames it on that."

The Nativity scene features life-size figures and a zombie baby Jesus, with pale skin and pure white eyes. At night, the figures are illuminated by red and green lights.

I find it hilarious that he has till the day after christmas to stop offending all the christians.

I think it's a great nativity, and he should keep it up for as long as he cacn.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

It's like the town council goes "ok whiners, we did something".

has until Dec. 26 to take down the scene.

I just checked the NORAD website, and it's not looking good.

They lost contact with Santa somewhere over the Ukraine.

Why is Christmas depressing in China?

Because there's a chance the toys the kids get were ones they made themselves.

Sorry man. Know how that feels. I spent many a Christmas in the ER because of my kids (ear infections mainly).

That stinks...maybe you should look into renting/buying one of those professional power snakes. Your sewer drain is regularly having issues.

Wtf is a jewelery armoire and how much is it going to set me back?

Anyone know where I can find one at a store, not online. Because I'm anticipating having to return it for the one she wants and don't want to hassle with return shipping.

I don't like the slippery slope this gift will set me on...

Looks like that thing can fit a LOT of shiny things. Good luck with that.

No kidding.

She already has tons of stuff from her parents and family (well to do South American family and Persian)

Wife is frugal, but also does likes nice stuff which is great. Got her a lovely necklace for our anniversary in June, so I'm good on the jewelery till our 2017 I think/hope.

Thanks for the link hater.

Amazon has very easy returns too. I don't care for that color though, wood grain would be nicer.

I have been shopping more at Jet now for bigger items. No sales tax, unlike Amazon.

I haven't been to Walmart in a month. If I order online from Walmart for free store pickup I have it shipped to the Walmart grocery store. In and out in 5 minutes. Otherwise I have to stand in the long line with all the layaway people at the regular Walmart.
