Both my sons were uncircumcised (born 1986, 1988). We decided to let them decide for themselves when they were older.

My oldest son had it done when he was 18 as he didn't want to be different, my younger son is still has his foreskin.

My wife is an OB nurse. We looked closely at all the data (25+ years ago) and decided not to circumcise our boys. Unfortunately, by the age of 2 both boys had to be circumcised because their foreskins would not retract. My wife assures me this is rare, but I would recommend to my kids to circumcise all of their boys since it is more complicated if required later and this problem appears to run in our family. Probably due to the fact that are hands are much larger than Trump's.

You want your sons to resemble you.

Whatever you have, go with that.

That's what I was going to say. A boy should look like his father.

Even if I'm circumcised? A white woman with dreadlocks and hairy legs told me it's traumatizing to be mutilated as an infant, and I wouldn't be so maladjusted if the doctors had left my foreskin intact.

Is it a tolerable surgery for a man to be circumcised? I mean, how did he do?

Do it.

Lower risk of contracting or transmitting STDs.

Mine grew back twice, and apparently it was pretty traumatic. I don't remember. I was just about to chime in and say "don't do it", but I'd probably listen to the doctor instead.

As long as 99% of porn is circumcised, that's what most people will expect, think looks better and will be the norm here in the US (most partners will likely be cut). A lot of girls will be freaked/grossed out if that's not what they see. Socially, I think it's a considerable crutch to be uncut.

Porn always leads in innovation and socially, they killed the beta max with VCR, HD DVD with Blu-ray, they made steaming video, chat rooms, digital cameras/webcams, online payments successful (among others) and now probably virtual reality. They'll probably have circumcised performers for the conceivable future, and that'll be the expected norm, it won't change like bush/clean shaven/trimmed etc.

And apparently the less sensitivity is now false i guess. Probably no reason for it medically besides reduced chances of infections/STDs and easier to clean, it's mostly aesthetic now.

Much less traumatizing for a 1 week old then a 21 year old

IMO, it should be the parents choice for their sons, but like in ASUhaters experience, if not done early, can be painful and lead to worse complications if circumcision is performed as a teenager/adult.

What Alieb said.

For those that are uncircumcised, hygiene is the key. Make sure you wash/cleanse appropriate after coitus and you should be fine.

As for expectations, I had a few European girlfriends back in the day who preferred "cut", but what do I know, they could've just been telling me sweet nothings.

Much better than I would have. I think he said the itching was the worst part, but I imagine the nightly woody woke him up at night. Don't think he had any regrets though.

Have honestly never come across porn consumption as reason for a health decision. For better or worse - :)

99%? Not in the wide array of content I've perused recently. More like 50/50 these days.

I'm paralyzed with fear that there's an unavoidable societal expectation that, after the baby is born, I have to have submit myself to professional black-and-white photography of me shirtless with the newborn. Is there any way around it?

It doesn't have to be professional

Some family baby pics are better in black and white.
