NYCat wrote:Sean Miller isnt an elite coach. I don't condone firing him because Arizona couldn't do better/Arizona isn't a top tier job.
Miller at Arizona is and will be Mark Richt at Georgia.
Don't @ me.
I thought this was for unpopular opinions, not factually disprovable opinions.
To me elite is on the eye of the beholder so yeah it is an opinion. And to me regular season titles is a factor in what makes a coach elite but so does final fours and titles.
I would agree with NY. Miller is very good but needs that final four/title to become elite.
Eh, NY went way further than that with the Richt comparison. Richt got fired last year. I stick with that being straight up wrong.
If Miller does not get to a final four in the next 7 years I would support firing him
I also hate blanket statements like that. Say the program receives seven years of only 6 scholarship players as penalty for Isaiah Fox's bagel theft tomorrow. Miller doesn't make the FF in those seven years. We want him fired.
It's pointless. All you can judge is his record to date, and comparing what he's done so far to a guy who got fired is crazy. What tomorrow holds...?
Also, Eyes Wide Shut sucked, and is only regarded as a decent movie because Kubrick made it. I love some Kubrick movies (Dr. Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket) but he gets a lot of love for a guy who has regularly been on the wrong side of the pretentious line.

Yeah, no in-depth debating of unpopular opinions on topics for which there already exist voluminous established threads. Debate here should be reserved for lesser random meaningless wrongful thoughts.
I believe that trier coming back will be more harmful than helpful to next years team. (No Bowen, no rawle, seems to run people off, does not live up to his potential or the expectations he sets for himself)

I love the cracked out feeling you get stepping off a 12 hr flight or 20+ hours of air travel. It means I'm somewhere cool.
Definitely unpopular...but I also agree with you here. I almost enjoy seeing everyone else's misery while they travel. You're in a metal tube hurtling through the sky at 550 mph in relative comfort with wifi, tv and sometimes even a snack or a drink for free! That's fucking amazing! and then you get to be half a world away in less than a day. That's incredible. 100 years ago it still took weeks or months to travel that far.

Yup and as connected or disconnected with a book and music as you want to be. With a window seat seeing all this really cool geography.
Love looking at route networks, reading the inflight mag, taking a dump mid flight. All of it!

Lol...that's "their" problem.
That makes me feel powerful. They know I'm defiling the bathroom and they just have to sit there and take it.

I've recently started feeling this way. Kind of a "Yeah..You know what I'm doing and you'll have to take it" feeling
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
Pooping at my company's corporate office is worse than an airplane. There's 2 stalls in a space that should hold one. So although there is a wall of 1/2 inch particle board between you and your pooping partner...you're literally still shoulder to shoulder. Not even 8 inches separates you.

That's different, you know those people.
I'll hold flatulence till I get to the podiatry department down the hall. I figure the feet smell hides eau de CST toilette.

I cant imagine what it would be like to deal with a woman with college or immediately post college problems and insecurities...
My wife is 24 going on 40. Met her when she was 21. I wouldn't have dated her if she acted her age at all. Which is odd, because you always would assume the younger the better.

Much prefer Doug Stanhope when he was younger and drank more/did more drugs.
I think the entire world needs to learn: kudos is singular; irregardless isn't a word at all and if it were it would be a double negative; things are composed of and comprised by.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”

The world will learn that as soon as it gets that "the media" is not singular, but plural.
ASUHATER! wrote:So do you say "I would like to give dovecanyoncat a kudos for his post"?
As you wish. If so, I would give you kudoi for correctness and courtesy.

...along with 'data'. As long as we're celebrating grammar Nazism ("No subjunctive for you!!!") I hope I live long enough for native-born English speakers to recognize the fundamental difference between " All (aspirin) is not (alike)" and "Not all (aspirin) is (alike)." One means none and the other means some, and yet they are used interchangeably.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
A worthy request. At the risk of sounding pedantic I think the spelling of the word implies in modern English a declension, but the actual absence of declension indicates the English (most likely American) user presumes a singular noun. Phonetics contributes as well: If one used the Greek pronunciation of the word (kudose as opposed to kudoze) it would be as familiar as, and typically correct as, the common use of 'cosmos', which almost always follows a determinant article. Its use as an indeterminate noun also implies the plural. We say 'props to you' and 'congrats to you' and 'you get an atta boy' but never 'a congrat to ya' or 'a prop to ya'.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
All of your opinions are complete and total shit. Even the ones I agree with.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Irregardless to who your referring, their is not nothing farther than impactful when they make principal importanter.
“If you have the choice between humble and cocky, go with cocky. There's always time to be humble later, once you've been proven horrendously, irrevocably wrong.”

As opposed to real Nazis? I'd say plenty of other worsts before we get to grammar uptights.
Damn right: Jodhpurs.

23 threads? Exagerate much?
I'll start a PJC thread. We'll all start PJC threads! IT'LL BE ANARCHY!
Relax Rain Man. Your world wouldn't fall apart if there was more than one PJC thread. Somehow every other message board I frequent does just fine, and are much more enjoyable without the anal-retentive approach of nothing but the same ol' boring and unimaginative mega-threads every day. I'm positive this one would too.
