I love the drive, but I would die biking it!
Re: Mt. Lemmom, one of the 7 best rides in the world
I have rode up several times. Love going up but coming down is a whole lot more fun. Sometimes I stop on the side of the road and look down and am so grateful we have this ride. So many beautiful places along the way. If you want to try, I suggest picking spots to ride too. Start with Molino Basin the first week, then 7 cats, Windy Point the next week. Rose Canyon lake, Palisades and then all the way to Summerhaven or Ski Valley. In 6 weeks you will achieve a buclet list ride. This gives you time to acclimate to the altitude and the step grade. The hardest part is that there are very few flat areas going up.
Of the rides in that article, I really want to ride Haleakala in Hawaii. I went down a few years ago but I really want to go up it. I know Bill Walton has done it as well as some of my friends and they all say it is a great ride.

Lance was in town last weekend to ride the 24 hours in the old pueblo. Great mtn bike race in Oracle. He has done it 2 years in a row now. I see pros on Mt Lemmon all the time. Most of the kom's on Strava are pro riders. Great training ride for sureMerkin wrote:Lance Armstrong agrees: https://thecyclinghouse.com/2009/12/lan ... tucson-az/" target="_blank

Saw that. Lance and his team quit during the race due to a teammate being sick.84Cat wrote:Lance was in town last weekend to ride the 24 hours in the old pueblo. Great mtn bike race in Oracle.
