3D Printers

Post by FreeSpiritCat »

I am strongly considering purchasing my first 3d printer. I hear it can make all kinds of practical things, which is what I want to use it for. I have no idea how these work though so am looking for advice before I buy.

This looks pretty cool and one of the reasons I'm thinking of buying a 3D printer. Just found out there is a resin style and filament style of printer.

UADevil seems to be the knowledgeable one on this question. Here's an earlier discussion:

I don't know anything about them, but my youngest son had a small cheap filament printer from Monoprice, less than $200, and really liked it, but decided it was too small and bought a much bigger filament printer.

Filament is really cheap to buy, with lots of colors.

That printer looks really small. For that price you can buy a much larger filament printer.

I know the libraries are closed right now but many of them have 3D printers now. Might be a good way to check them out and see how they work before you fork out your own hard earned cash

This is the printer I purchased. It's wide and very popular right now. Amazon is sold out so I picked it up from the manufacturer. A lot less expensive but will take a few weeks before it is delivered.
