Shouldn't we ask Rocky?

Shouldn't this be in the Travel & Leisure sub-forum?

Do people travel to El Paso? Or take leisure there?

Can't get more El Paso than Marty Robbins singing "El Paso".

We should allow this thread to die quickly, much like what everyone in El Paso wish for themselves.

Only reason I'd ever try El Paso is if the Cat's make the Sun Bowl.

Just too far out of the way.

I actually lived in EP for two years when I got my first job after UofA. A two-year sentence as my old Manzi-Mo roomie used to call it.

I hated it, but I will say the food was excellent. Lots of great Mexican and steak places, even a really good Chinese place.

And back then (late '80s) we used to go to Jaurez all the time, it was fairly safe. Wouldn't be caught dead there at night anymore.

Weather is decent too.

My dad was born there. Has no good memories to recommend about it, save the Marty Robbins song.

Oh, and an early 1950s military movie, Take the High Ground, was filmed in Ft. Bliss.

Tough sell anymore, that place.

My brother-in-law is in the Army, and just got his PCS orders to Ft. Bliss. He has been stationed in Hawaii for the last 6 years. Talk about going from one extreme to another.
