1) It's only with rare exceptions that french fries are better than store-bought potato chips.

2) Store-bought potato chips shouldn't be eaten as a snack, or from a small bag with a sandwich. They should be a part of certain dinners, e.g., roast duck with cherry sauce and potato chips.

If I had potato chips right now I would crush them and put them on top of the baked Velveeta mac and cheese that is in my oven as I type this.

Fucking a man, I don’t want to hear about your manager job at jack and the box, how the regular tacos are better than the loaded tacos, and the time a cougar bought all the tacos and tried to take you home for a threesome with her husband.

Jesus man.

And your car smells like a high school locker room. Fml

I don't get the whole business model of Uber. They claim to be a 'rideshare' outfit, different to a taxi. Who the hell are we 'ridesharing' with. Are we supposed to believe the driver has been hanging out within a couple miles of our house for someone to go to the airport so he can share fuel cost? Is he picking up another passenger on the way (and if so which one of us is he gonna assault?)? It just stupid.

Yeah it was always going to be people doing it as a job and main source of income, same as a taxi. In reality Uber and Lyft drivers are no different than taxi drivers.

Except taxi drivers have to register with local law enforcement and carry workers comp and liability insurance. If your a passenger involved in a wreak in a taxi you aren’t on the hook for payment of your injuries.

My dislike of uber and Lyft goes beyond the poor EQ of the drivers talking when I don’t want to talk and the nastiness of their personal vehicle interiors.

Uber/Lyft sucks. Gladly pay a bit extra to avoid.

You've just had bad drivers. In my experience taxis are so much more gross and rude and weird than Uber and Lyft. I'll never use a taxi again honestly.

Also what you say about what cabs have to do is completely not true, at least in Arizona. Cab drivers in AZ don't have to register with law enforcement or carry any kind of special insurance. They're actually less vetted and regulated than Uber and Lyft drivers and are far more sketchy.

I’ll take it one step further/double down on my unpopular opinion...

Taxi drivers are often immigrants or older folks or just decent hard working people who drive a cab. I love talking with cab drivers, really interesting with tons of life experience. Generally speaking, the “get” the art and subtleties of driving passengers from point a to point b.

Uber Lyft, generally speaking, tend to have less life experience. In comparison these conversations generally suck and are boring and pedestrian to me.

Suck in that firestick! Lol

Haha in my experience your description of taxi drivers is the description of Uber and Lyft drivers. Here they are usually immigrants and people doing it with lots of experience (many former cab drivers). The people driving cabs are the gross, inexperienced, unvetted former criminals and weird people. Exact opposite between the two here.

OK, so I just flicked through a 'listicle' that purported to answer 'who are the 25 worst singers/front of band kind of folks'.

Now I didn't have any problem with people like Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears or Axl Rose or Curt Cobain or Rhianna or Lou Reed on the list.

I don't even mind that Bob Dylan was on the list, but set at number two was way too harsh. Dylan has a lousy voice, raspy and nasally at the same time. That turns a lot of people off, I get it. He's gruff and standoffish and sometimes boring in concert because of it, I get that too. But singing is more than a good voice, its selling a song. Dylan can sell a folk song when working in acoustic (or at least he used to), electric not so much. But to me, where Dylan stands out is when hes doing blues. He is one of the best white blues singers going. He is also a very passable jazz crooner when he wants to be, maybe equal to Willie Nelson in that regard. Nobody ever said that Louis Armstrong couldn't sing. And what about Tom Waits?

But the worst offense in that listicle was marking Jim Morrison as the number one worst singer/front man. That is just stupid. It complained that he was often "just reading poetry". Guess what? He was also often "just singing" and performing. And he was also often stoned beyond reason which took away a lot of his strength. The Doors shows are better described as 'rock theater' than 'rock band' and Jim Morrison was one of the best front of band singers ever. Period.

Mr Mojo Risin' had one of the best rock voices ever. Even during the LA Woman days when he was quite raspy by abusing his body so much he sounded great.

However, he was notoriously bashful, and when they were first performing Morrison had to face the band, not the audience.

Then the whole pulling out his dick in Miami, OK, yea, that would put someone on the list.

Axl Rose had quite a distinctive voice, and didn't like GnR at all when the broke onto the scene, but now I find their music quite enjoyable. Same with Nirvana when they did the MTV Unplugged set. Not a fan of grunge, but that was really good.

On its own the season was fine, just that it didn't resolve the point of many different story lines in the earlier seasons.

As an avid book reader, I have no plans to continue the series even if GRRM completes the next book, since he will probably never finish his vision.

My Dad and I's most common sociopolitical disagreement is over whether the Earth is overpopulated or not.

Last time I told him "China's One Child policy was ahead of it's time."

An unpopular opinion even amongst myself.

To which I did quickly agree with my Dad's counterargument that China's enforcement of their One Child policy was overbearing, draconian, and inhumane.

I used to think the world was overpopulated but then I realized that it was actually undereducated.

If we increased education opportunities in developing nations, population growth would dramatically level out.

Have you read the book 2030? By 2030, half the population will be over 60. We are having less babies and the population is expected to decline in China due to the one baby policy lasting too long. Some countries like Japan are already seeing population decline. One problem I see is it's too expensive for many people to have kids now.
